Increasing my protein intake!

    Hi guys,

I am a keen runner (running approx 60km/week) and also do about 45mins of weights/4 days/week. I'm taking whey protein shakes pre and post workouts.

However, i'm looking at getting much more protein into my diet. I love nuts, epsecially Almonds (i even have them crushed with walnuts in my porridge every morning!) and i could snack on them all day (but i resist!). Nuts are really expensive though! Would anyone know where i could buy them in a store in bulk and/or online?

I'm not a big fan of meat/fish and only have it maybe twice a week. So i'm really dependent on the whey, nuts, beans and eggs for my bulk protein intake.

I just throw 3 eggs in the microwave in the morning and it comes out like a mug shaped omelette. Tear up a slice of turkey in there too. Thats a good protein start for the day.

Also you should look at legumes and beans like white cannelini beans. They can be boiled in a pot and squashed to resemble mashed potatoes, like a protein mash basically.

Peanut butter and cottage cheese too. Cottage cheese looks a bit minging but it tastes fine!

Also, try cooking with the whey, mix your whey with the u nuts for protein bars. Theres a tonne of recipes online.

Aldi and lidl do cheap walnuts. Also if you go to the baking section in tesco the nuts are much cheaper.
