Louis definitely... not so sure about Cheryl.

Also, had no idea what thread had been updated when I saw the red number in the top right. Surprised when I saw it was this one ... great to be back! :P:pac:

    Great news.

Does this mean X Factor USA has gone kaput?

    Probably.

Havent heard of Tate Stevens or Melanie Amaro since they won Season One and Two.

And in other shocking news: the world is round, the sky is blue, grass is green, water is wet, ice is cold, fire is hot, night is dark, the Pope is Catholic and bears defecate in the woods...

And X Factor USA is being "rested", which apparently does not mean that it's been cancelled. Yeah, right...

    It's been cancelled:

More incredible developments: cats still meow, dogs still bark, fish still live in water, sugar still tastes sweet, rocks are still hard, the sun still rises in the east, the square root of 9 is still 3...

Why didn't Fox announce its cancellation as soon as Simon announced that he was returning to the UK version, instead of waiting until the following day?

The Sun has Louis Walsh down on the panel for the next season... will hold out for official confirmation but that doesn't surprise me really, especially with Simon making a return.

It's being reported that Nicole Scherzinger won't be returning to the X factor panel in 2014.

And it's being reported that Cheryl will return.

I'm taking these reports with a grain of salt until official confirmations are made.

I have a feeling Cheryl would only return to the panel if Nicole was leaving. She wouldn't want to be upstaged.

I'll miss Nicole. She was annoying at times but she was a very good mentor and judge.

Can't think who they'll replace her with. Please note someone like Rita Ora. I'd love Lily Allen :D

Lily has frequently been linked to the show, but she's rubbished every link thus far.

I don't think she likes it that much, anyway. She certainly didn't like the bootcamp twist last year:

    http://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/sep/30/x-factor-viewers-complain-cruel-bootcamp-twist

And she almost certainly won't join if Nicole does indeed go and Cheryl does indeed return. After all, she and Cheryl hate each other... :D;)

And if there was a **** tonne of money involved. Would have loved to have seen Ronan take a position, he's been doing great on the Aussie one. But, it has to be a woman. My bets are on Dannii Minogue also making a return.

    Also... NEW THREAD!

I can't see Dannii coming back unfortunately. She was my favourite judge ever. And the years with her, Cheryl, Louis and Simon were the golden years of the show.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,038 ✭✭✭Go Harvey Go

Simon and co will probably still want an overseas judge, seeing as there has been one every year since Dannii joined in 2007.

So if Nicole does go, might they consider Ashley Roberts, soon to lose her job on Dancing On Ice as that show bows out?

It can't be denied that Ashley isn't and never has been very good on DOI, but then she's far less familiar with ice skating than she is with music. XF would almost certainly be more up her street.

And if Cheryl was on the panel too, I'd say the two would get on reasonably well. Ashley certainly doesn't come across as being more likely to upstage Cheryl than Nicole...

I suppose the major disadvantage, though, would be that many civilians would see the replacement of one Pussycat Doll with another from a smaller ITV talent show as a big anticlimax.

The tabloids and gossip sites are reporting that Simon has confirmed Nicole's exit.

All he did was tweet, "Nicole will always be a part of the X factor family. Now signed to Sony as an artist. Thank you Nicole for everything."

That is not an official confirmation...

It may as well be tho. I'd wager anything she won't be back as a judge for 2014.

And if rags are to be believed she don't want any other females on judging panel so Olly Murs latest name linked to final judge's vacant seat with her, Simon and Lulu

Her career's in the crapper of late, so she's taking Simon's big fat pay cheque to promote whatever her new 'comeback' single is going to be. Just watch how her acts will be favoured this year, too.

I'm genuinely gutted she's back. Only silver lining is that at least it wasn't Sinitta :pac:

While some of us Boardsies are horrified, it seems that the general reaction to Cheryl's return is "meh".

    Here are a few tweets:
Apparently Cheryl Cole will be back on the X factor. I imagine it WOULD be possible for me to care less...I'm just bit sure how. #yawn
Cheryl Cole to return to X Factor - in other news my elderly neighbour just put her bins out #whogivesa #itshaditsday
Top story on my news thing is Cheryl Cole is back on X factor. Pretty sure there's some troubles in Ukraine and a plane is still missing...
ZZZzzz Cheryl Cole back to X Factor, does she not realise Cheltenham starts tomorrow!!!!
Cheryl Cole to make X Factor return http://gu.com/p/3nexd/tw via @guardian < I'm bored of being bored by this boring thing
By bringing Cheryl Cole back the X Factor has become the definition of flogging a dead horse! #giveitup

What was that I was saying about Simon's favouritism towards Cheryl...

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2578924/Lauren-Silverman-welcomed-fold-raucous-night-London-Simon-Cowells-celebrity-cronies.html
He has sat on The X Factor judging panel since the very beginning, but it looks like Louis Walsh's time behind the famous desk could come to an end if Cheryl Cole gets her way....
The former Girls Aloud singer is reportedly battling it out with Simon Cowell over whether the 61-year-old should return to the ITV1 show.

....Simon commented: 'When Cheryl came back we decided we'd agree together. I'm not going to put someone beside her who she hates.'...

...'I have got a 60 per cent say in who is on the show. I definitely want a strong woman. I’m kind of hoping I don’t have to deal with three guys because otherwise I’m gonna have no hair', she (Cheryl) added.

Just like before, there's going to be a real 'us against them' vibe from those two. No way should she have that much power in deciding who does and doesn't get to sit on the panel!

I really hope Louis comes back. The show just wouldn't be the same without him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,456 ✭✭✭✭ibarelycare

I'm pretty sure the whole Cheryl V Louis thing is drama drummed up by Syco to give the show some publicity...come on guys, how many years is it reported that Lulu's position on the panel is in jeopardy?!!! I think any rivalry between him and Cheryl is totally played up.

I don't really have a problem with Cheryl coming back tbh. She annoys the hell out of me, but I enjoy that! I enjoy bitching about her and Simon, and it certainly adds to this thread :D

I though the exact same thing when I saw those headlines. It's funny if people actually believe them. Louis will definitely be there.

Louis NOT coming back is probably the only thing that may convince me to tune in this year. Simon said on Daybreak today that Cheryl has an influence on who the other judges are and he's not going to put anyone on the panel she doesn't like. That explains Nicole's departure, I'm hoping for a Louis Walsh exit too. Not before bloody time!

Cheryl said herself she has a 60% say in who's hired to sit on the panel this year, it's not a made up story. As for Louis, it's also a fact he's slagged her off publicly more than once and he's not afraid to call her out, so it's safe to say she's not his number one fan.

At least Nicole (whether drunk or not :p) showed some personality and was fun unlike Cheryl imo

Me neither but it's still not as painful for me as watching Louis do or say anything. The combination of Simon/Cheryl and Louis will ensure I definitely don't watch a single episode this year. If Louis isn't present though I may be convinced to at least give it a chance.

She is doing Josh Duhamel - she is winner in my book :p

I wonder is Cheryl still friendly with Will.I.Am

TBH, I don't think Simon will be any big international name for this show
