    500GB is €27.99
    320GB is €24.99

Pardon my ignorance. Is that only for laptops or the same as an external hard disc drive (HDD) that can be used for storage?

think of it as a glorified USB key, can be used anywhere

should look like this (im guessing...)

That harddrive is a laptop harddrive inside a plastic case with a USB cable. What that poster meant was, the savvy laptop users out there might buy this and and take the harddrive out to put in their laptop. 33 euros for a 1TB drive is a steal. 33 euros for a 1TB laptop Hard drive is borderline theft.

My point was that if You need one for laptop it is cheaper to buy this one and take out HDD.
But if You need it as external drive You can use it that way.

Dont really want to spend 89.99, but when you say
2TB is €89.99 (not portable), how not portable do you mean?

the bottom left HDD in the image with the green hand cut label appears to say 2TB, but it doesnt look hugely non portable, not slimline.
I cant make out the price? was 139?? now? looks like 99.
So is that the 2TB HDD? wouldn't mind a replacement/backup drive to store stuff.
Are Seagate an ok make? I read a review recently about the comparison between HDD's, It was actually a different review to the one I've linked, but here's another one I located with a quick search, but Id read the comments too.

The box is big which means it comes with power adapter usually needed for 3.5" disks. Portable ones are just plug n play, no external power needed

It is not a bargain for 2TB imo as you can get similar ones around €82 on Komplette

Thats a great price. Thanks OP. Going to check out the one in Cavan later and see if they have any.

No bargain 1T drives left in Blanch :/ - just some more expensive ones - got the 500G for 28 Euros to upgrade an old laptop.

A struggle to open without damaging the case (snapped together but not glued) - but possible.

Inside was a standard SATA Seagate drive as hoped - model ST500LT012
(and a dinky little sata to usb3 module) - 4 screws inside under the rubber bumpers hold the drive to the internal caddy..

    This is the drive inside:

I asked in O'Connell Street Limerick today and was told they were full price - the person I spoke to was familiar with the offer as another boardsie had already been in asking :)
