Just picked one up there, €10 so won't break the bank, seems well made, machined SS and metric/imperial measurement + calibration, accurate to 1/100 of a mil.

Kinda funny to discover that my everyday coils are smaller than I thought at 1.25mm and my nano coils are 0.88mm.

i got them and the work fine, they even give you a spare battery which is just as well because the batteries dont last.

But the can still be used normally without the digital readout.

You git a spare battery? Dang, I didn't, but checked and the batteries are available in Tesco so easy get....yes it can be used manually, have not checked to what accuracy yet. Very useful tool to have though, have even used it to check thickness of paper so far.....don't ask? Ha ha haa....

I want to play!! so I measured the inside off the bean can, and then the outside, and now I take away the inside diameter from the outside, and I'm left with the actual thickness off the steel, wait is that the thickness multiplied by 2! because there's 2 sides!! no wait it's a circle, so it has one side, ehhhhhh am I rightZZZZZZZ wait I know, I'll just use the calipers to measure the thickness off the steel, yeah but that's no fun and the Boardsie's wont laugh, and I am going crazy

I actually thought of doing that but didnt want to cause a nerdsplosion, There is also the further complication of there being a lip up the top which is immeasurably fatter than the walls.
