Heard this said on the radio earlier.

It certainly had some memorable quotes and some great music but is it the best film ever?

No, the best film ever is clearly "Dude wheres my car?"

    Couldn't disagree more.
I didn't know from one minute to the next if Nemo would get back to his Da or not.

No. I love films and would watch anything but one of my all time favourites is A Night to Remember (1958), watched it as a child and thought wow. Pulp fiction pales in comparison to the classics but enjoyed it all the same. The Field is another brilliant film I can think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, such clever writing, definitely better than that Tarantino rubbish

You probably like Grown ups and that cunting movie about google. The one with the not-ever-funny Vince Vaughan and the was-funny-when-you're-5-or-legally-retarded Owen Wilson.

    Look them up.

I've got two words True Romance.

I know a guy who's only seen part 3 of the Godfather...and refuses to watch part one and two because of it!

At the time of release it seriously shook things up hugely in cinema - I remember seeing it in the cinema and being blown away. However, it was a once off and anyone trying to use any of the cinematic devices in it was invariably in danger of being accused of being derivative, even though Tarnantino himself mostly copies little bits from here and there from obscure movies. Brillliant, yes, best film ever no.

You need to watch more films. I love it but it's nowhere near. Tarantino will never make a top-tier film. He's just great at cut/paste jobs in a creative way.

I reckon The Room is probably one of the greatest.

    Cinema snob alert.

"That Tarantino lad is shit, what you need is some 1920's Soviet Union silent movies, yeah they were the best"

I am so not a cinema snob, but if you can't realise that Tarantino copies other films compulsively you need to do some more research. I love his films but there is hardly any originality in them behind it all.

Pulp Fiction. Not even close. Jaws, Shawshank, Lawerence of Arabia, Blade Runner, Where Eagles Dare, True Romance, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Godfather are all far superior.

Good god!You have to talk some sense into him, parts 1 and 2 are master pieces.3 is a let down though.

To be fair, most movies are copies of other movies. Tarantino movies are a breath of fresh air from the norm tbh. It's undeniable he makes good movies. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds, Django... Fantastic movies and in modern day cinema he has a unique way of telling a story.

    Oh hi Mark!

    100%

1+2 are masterpieces, 3 was sub par. I think Pacino found drugs after no.2...he looks like a different guy! It's also something you have to watch in chronological order too!

Probably one of the greatest scenes in film history. There are about a billion details you can pick out of it and then some...

(everyone has to watch this film)

I never said they were bad...just nowhere near in terms of the 'best'. I've never watched a Tarantino film that changed my life or anything. They're great action films, that's all and that's it really. For the record, I've watched pretty much all of his films, including the likes of Jackie Brown and that.

It's all about personal impact though. My personal favourite film is Oslo, 31. August, really incredible film, probably the best cinematography I've ever seen too, every shot is like a photograph. Someone might not get the same out of it that I do though.

Really difficult to pick the best movie ever, even the best movie in a certain genre. Is Pulp Fiction a better movie say than One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which has magnificent performances across the board.

I saw Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction in the same night and wished I had seen them in reverse order as felt Pulp was a bit of a comedown.

    so yes, Gump beat gimp

Most Tarintino fillims rock and I'd quite happily rewatch them on a regular basis.

However, I believe the bestest fillim I ever watched was Pay It Forward.

I leaked more water than a Somerset river.

It's a good film, a very good film, I liked Reservoir Dogs too. Best film ever no, that would be The Godfather 2. Best film I have seen would probably be Once upon a time in America, Goodfellas was awesome too.
