Kettlebells versus dumbell/barbells

    Hello,

I have a set of weights and I'm thinking about starting back at them but I see more and more about kettlebells and I'm curious.
I do prefer the idea of slow steady lifting to the idea of swinging a bell around the room.
Looking for opinions on which method is the most effective for weight loss and toning up?
    Thanks in advance

Kettlebells are fantastic for making uses of full body movement, you dont just work single muscle groups with KB like you do with dumbells.

Saying that, bad form with a kettlebell will leave you in a world of hurt... go to some classes to get your form right and guide on how to do the excerises properly..

I prefer a mix, kettlebells for HIIT training and dumbell, barbell for strength training

If you want to lose weight and tone up, many say 80% diet, 20% exercise - get the diet sorted as your main priority, any type of weight training you do after diet is fixed will help!

Thanks for the advice. I might just change my eating habits and do some free weights then. From what I've read it's really good for your metabolism.
