    Hi all,

28 year old male, 89 kg and 5'11 in height. Just started training the past few of weeks. Am getting enough cardio in but when it comes to weights I'm a bit clueless. I'm not very muscular and hoping to change this (can only bench 20 kg :( ). There is no real structure to my weight training and I'm not seeing any results despite training 5 days a week.

Hoping someone could recommend a routine for me? I see a lot of people doing the gbc on here, would this be suitable or is it more advanced?

I'm not looking for the 'bulked up' look just want to be more lean and defined.
Also any good videos to for technique with regards to squats, dead lift etc?
I'm not sure my technique is great.

    Thanks for any replies!

You won't be getting huge anytime soon, so cut this idea out that if you workout using heavy weights for a year. That you will look like the beefed up guys in the gym, they are either running illegal compounds or have been training for a long long time.

Beginners are often recommended to go for a full body routine like "Starting strength" as it
    - Teaches the beginner the various compound movements
    - Allows them to get in and out of the gym quickly
    - Gives them an actual program to follow
    - Takes advantage of the rapid recovery & muscle building rate of somebody new to working out.

This guy has good information on his youtube site that will clue you mroe in.

    Starting Strength or Stronglifts.

And have someone show you hwo to do the lifts. Chances are you won't learn off youtube.
