    Hi,

I'm trying to gather a list of healthy chicken marinades. I've done a lot of googling however most of them mention a lot of oils etc which doesn't seem all that healthy, especially when you are cooking them in the oil.

Is anybody using any at the moment or could you suggest any... thanks in advance...

    100ml fat free natural yoghurt
    Juice of 1 lime
    1 tbsp crushed garlic
    2.5cm piece root ginger, grated
    1 tsp cumin
    1 tbsp ground coriander
    1 tsp garam masala
    Pinch of paprika
    Pinch of salt

Mix the yoghurt and other marinade ingredients together. Cover the chicken or salmon well with the marinade, then cover and chill for 2 hours.

Thanks, sounds good... how many fillets would the above measurements cover?

I find the shake and bake bags excellent.
Knorr and Maggi are two of the brands I see most commonly. You'll have seen them advertised. €1 a pack, comes in tonnes of flavours and about 100 calories per sachet. Bought 6 chicken breasts Sunday and a sachet of mixed herbs flavour. 6 breasts into the bag, sachet of mix in on top. Shake it up so the chicken is coated. Tie the bag with the tie provided and 40 mins in the oven. That's my protein for my dinner sorted for the week. I've eaten two already, very very tasty. I've tried the Cajun chicken also, very good. These were recommended to me by a friend who is a personal trainer.
You can throw whatever veg you want into the bags too. I'd be lost without them

I'd be concerned about the salt content of those tbh?

Why are you cooking marinaded chicken in oil?

This peri peri mix is good.
Just cover the chicken with it and pop in the over.

Thanks, is the salt content a little high?
