    Neither choice is particularly appealing.

    42 Khan
    58 Maidina

He'd bate the pair of them on the same night to be honest. While I think Khan would give him more problems than Maidana would; Maidana probably deserves it a lot more.

I second this, never happen though. If I had to choose I guess i'd go Maidana because Khan doesn't deserve the pay day.

if he fights Khan I will remortgage the house and stick it on rounds 1-3.

I do not think this fight will happen though.

Maybe one of the two is what he wants. So it's a 50/50 chance that the poll winner gets the fight.

I always thought Khan could give FMJ problems, Maidana is more of the same that he has beaten in the past.
I'd like to see Lara Erislandy/Pac over Kirkland, Khan or Maidana

I've always been of the opinion that Khan has the necessary boxing skills to cause mayweather problems but is severely lacking the smarts. I have seen nothing in khans latest fights that tells me training with Virgil Hunter has made him any wiser.

Id love to see khan give it a go he has the speed and if all else fails there woukd be a great build up to the fight with sky sports hyping it up.
Maidana has already lost to mayweather and khan.

To be fair khan was dominating garcia aswell khan is not with out his fauts but he has the tools to give anyone a run on the right night.

    From Khan's FB page:

Why would mayweather even consider putting maidana in the mix. Slow hands slow feet. Only thing he brings to the table is power. I agree he beat broner. We seen how mayweather deals with power eg Canelo. Let broner have his rematch on the undercard of khan v mayweather. I bring speed explosiveness power and footwork to the table. Look back at quick opponents mayweather has fought in the past, Judah , Oscar delay Hoya both had speed and where close fights. Floyd did say he needs fans want to see him knocking someone out because his fights are boring. So no wonder he's know wanting to fight maidana. I'm ready and been in gym for last 6 months. At 147 you will see a different stronger Amir khan. Ok let's talk about the chin which I always laugh about. Killing yourself making weight makes Ur punch resistance poor. Iv been killing myself making 140 lbs and should of moved up. Day before weigh in Iv been 12 pounds over. Not good. Iv taken the biggest shots from likes of maidana with 30 Ko's under his belt, who pple say is the biggest puncher and didn't go down but then Diaz puts me down with a little shot. Even though my balance off an I was on 1 foot it's cool. Il take it. So this proves weight making is the problem. Another example Angulo and ward have hit me with big shots and I've stood in front n not gone down They carry 25 lbs over me and are big punchers. This is because I'm at my natural weight. It's in the fans hands who they want to c me fight. If it's not me then good luck who. Ever it is.

A bit of punctuation wouldn't have gone astray, Amir!

    No he hasn't.

    Ah, the "lucky punch" defense.

    Walshb,

Nice one for posting that up, once again we can see how delusional Khan is.
I bring speed explosiveness power and footwork to the table.

He's one of the softest-hitting boxers out there.
but then Diaz puts me down with a little shot. Even though my balance off an I was on 1 foot it's cool.

He was completely stunned and wobbling around the place. He was lucky he didn't get KO'd entirely.
Another example Angulo and ward have hit me with big shots

I'm sure if the Super Middleweight Andre Ward had any wish to put Khan down he could.

I can't blame the man for hyping himself up, boxing is a business after all. He just really gets on my tits.

It's up on his Official Page alright, awful stuff. I know boxers shouldn't be expected to be Shakespeare, but at least have the spelling correct to some degree before you show it to a million odd people.

The spelling and grammar are the least of his worries.

Hes delusion is up there with Broner if hes serious.

To be fair, Maidana is slow, he wont hit Mayweather or even win a round. Kahn on the other hand could get knocked out, wobbled or both but I think he will win a round or two at least. Maidana deserves his shot I agree with that.

Maidana has called Kahn out for rematch - now thats a fight.

I'd much rather see Maidana v Khan than Mayweather fight either of them. He'd whoop Khan no doubt but I think he'd make Maidana look a complete child. I'd much rather see Mayweather fight Trout to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,356 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Trout-Mayweather would be a horrible style match. Floyd won't risk fighting Trout. You just can't look good against him. He's fast, slick, awkward and a southpaw. Plus he's cautious and doesn't press too much. Add this to his size advantage and it's too bothersome for Floyd.

Kahn v Maidana 2 would be good, the last fight was one of the best I have seen. Power, drama , excitement everything that is missing from Mayweathers fights

I know sure, I'd just like to see Floyd subjected to a proper test and there's few and far between outside of Bradley who can do at welterweight.

I dont think Bradley would either. hes too good, he got better in his last 2 fights if you ask me. Martinez would be a good defining fight for him but again I dont see it happening or Martinez troubling Mayweather.

Bradley's a top 10 P4P fighter though, he's a fantastic boxer with speed and skills. I don't think anyone would beat Floyd to be honest, or come close to doing so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,519 ✭✭✭Underground

I've said before I'd love to see Bradley get a shot at Floyd. He wouldn't beat him but it'd be interesting all the same. I think if Keith Thurman gets a big win under his belt he'll be in the running for a shot at Floyd.

Interesting interview with Roy Jones about Mayweather and his match up with Khan. Jones is actually very sharp and insightful (once you can understand that mad Florida accent.)

Of all the fighters over the years who have analysed fights I think Jones is by far the best (although Paulie Malignaggi has definitely got potential). His knowledge of the game both from a tactical and mental approach really are worth listening to, irrespective of who he's talking about and he's an intelligent, articulate guy, not afraid to go against the grain (and give his reasons why) if he feels that way.

    Well that's that then.

    Amir Khan ‏@AmirKingKhan 37m
No response from Mayweather or his team. Fights not happening. I should of taken the title fight last December against Alexander...

    Amir Khan ‏@AmirKingKhan 36m
Very disrespected by his team. Wasted my time

    Amir Khan ‏@AmirKingKhan 27m
Can I apologies to the thousands of people who are let down. You me and everyone wanted the Mayweather fight. He's running scared.

Looks like it's gonna be Mayweather V Maidana now in May. Wonder if Khan v Kell Brook could be on the cards now.

If nothing else I hope it's been a humbling experience for Khan having to wait around this past year with his heart in his mouth praying he gets the Mayweather fight. Have to say I'm taking some pleasure from his anguish (Schadenfreude) :P

I agree with you! Jones gives great analysis! I feel Paulie is definitely the next generation of boxing analyst, he is very very likeable and his knowledge is something I've never seen before (apart from Bert Sugar). I also like the way he's integrated into Sky's coverage too! We are spoiled having Paulie and Jones on TV really!

Khan could have fought Alexander last year to earn the Mayweather fight and wouldn't go for it. It's his own fault for missing out on this one.

I should know this but I don't, why is he still fighting? Is it a money thing or just can't give it up?

Oh, don't get me started. Why such an intelligent guy continues to fight when he doesn't need to is anybody's guess. On some thread a while back someone mentioned money issues, but to be honest that was the first I heard of it and I've heard nothing since.

Boxing is a drug and fighters just seem to have massive difficulty coping without it when they retire, hence all the comebacks and non-retirements over the years.

I presumed it was money but I certainly hope not. If he wants to continue on his own terms then fine, albeit you'd like him to call it a day, but I'd hate to see him plugging away like Toney for a few quid.

I bank that FMJ wont follow Toney/RJJ by going on too long and getting a hiding. He will go at the right time...

Me too. Was that story if him losing over $10m on the Super Bowl true?

I know 50 Cent was lamenting his lack of financial discipline, thinks he ll be fighting at 45 trying to make money.

Pacman too. Tax man after him after making tens if not hundreds if millions.

Why? Look at Tyson, Holyfield, Leonard, Jones etc. While they may not have Floyd's money, he is living according to how much he earns, when that stops what's he going to do?
