Ok guys, so I get into work at about 8.30am and I have a bowl of heated oats. You know the microwaveable ones from aldi. A good heaped two scoops of them with low fat milk and a cup of tea.

Then at approx 10.30 I have a cup of tea with 2 slices of the low GI bread from aldi too. It's seeded and I butter it with dairy gold. But on that I put one boiled egg, sometimes 2 and a small handful of grated cheese, maybe about 30g.

Is this a good meal to start the day off with?

I'd eat regular oats that come in a big bag rather than microwaveable ones.

Yeah I heard that before, but haven't found any info yet on what was better. A few say the microwave oats are the same, just sliced thinner for quicker cooking.

The regular oats, in a bag, can they bee cooked as easily, as what I maybe didn't mention is that I'm cooking the oats in work currently.

My mother in law cooks regular porridge oats in the microwave all the time without any problems. I don't because I prefer them cooked in a saucepan and have the time in the morning to do it

Would be very easy to add in a portion of fruit. Sliced banana in porridge is tasty nom nom.

Have thought about that alright. I usually have my fruit after my sambo at 10.30, apple or pear followed by a banana after lunch and an orange around 3.30pm with a cuppa. So I get a lot of fruit in also. Just didn't list it in my OP.

A healthy breakfast can be made redundant by the rest of your diet.
Don't think of your food in terms of meals consider it as a whole.
Pointless having a healthy breakfast if the rest of your diet is crap.

In b4 "the rest of my diet is fine I just need help with breakfast"
Well if the rest of your diet is fine have your breakfast resemble it.

Eggs cheese oats are all fine foods as is bread in limited quantities. But the rest of your diet needs to be good too

I buy the large bag of regular porridge oats, either flahavans or the aldi one and I make it in the microwave with water. I can't see any difference between them and the 'microwave' oats other than the price. The price comparison is crazy. The microwave oats in the tube or small tubs cost multiple times what the regular oats do

I buy the large bag in aldi too. They can be cooked in the microwave or in the pot.
