    What time is Joshua?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Not too sure. I'd say he is probably in next

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Evans took some hiding in that round. This has been very entertaining.

Looking forward to seeing Selby. Was the GGG fight a one-sided fight?

Yea pretty much. Adama had about 3 rounds where he managed to avoid serious damage but didn't win any of them

Very impressive 1st round from Gavin Rees

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Rees did some damage in that round.

Great scrap so far, they are really loading up already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

    Scoring it 3-0 so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

This is tough (stupid from Rees?) stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Rees looked spent at the end of that round

Good stuff from Buckland now. Looks like it was stupid tactics from Rees.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,449 ✭✭✭megadodge

Really good fight, I think Buckland will take over for a close pts win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Now Buckland looks tired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

    This is a cracking contest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Tough one to call! Wouldn't back either right now with real confidence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Rees is in big trouble. Can't see how this one goes the distance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Rees looks absolutely bolloxed.

    Unbelievable battle

Epic fight. Rees must be running on empty - hope he wins though!

Where did Rees find that round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Heart goes out to whomever loses this. Great effort from both guys

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Think Rees has just edged this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭Deiseboy01

Great scrap. A draw would be a fair result here. No one deserves to lose. Although I have Rees a slight favourite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Incredible fight, looked like Buckland was taking over but Rees somehow found something in those last 3 rounds and edged it for me. Well done to both, brilliant stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

I think Rees wins by 2. That was great

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,449 ✭✭✭megadodge

Tremendous fight. That's why I love boxing.
For what it's worth I thought Rees nicked it but it's so close it could go either way.
I'd love to see a draw, as neither deserves to lose.

  • Moderators Posts: 8,832 ✭✭✭x PyRo

That was bloody brilliant. Two hugely admirable men.

Feel very bad for Rees. :(

    Yea very much so

    Very magnanimous from Rees

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 514 ✭✭✭DuckHook

Rees stitched up there, no way buckland gets 116-113 and when I heard it was terry oconnor the third card it was curtains for Rees.

Poor decision, Rees took 1,2,3,6,11,12 and the rest were marginal IMO.

Calzage looks like he d love to be in the ring tonight. Mean lookin, the atmosphere must be getting to him!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

This guy Joshua is in against went 6 rounds with Hughie Fury last time out so should give a good idea of where he is going.

Why is it in boxing that when there's a split decision, people always claim its a robbery when it differs from their own view.

It's totally subjective and I'm hardly saying it's the worlds worst decision, but can't give buckland that many clear rounds therefore that's why I'm saying it.

He ll get annihilated. Joshua is a beast. Even Larry Holmes has been pimping himself out, twice, saying he'd love to teach him, give him a call.....Must see something there. Only question mark, can he take a shot? If he can he's going to the top fast.

After 10, i have it 6-4 Rees. Tough fight to score.

And Rees bossed the last two rounds IMO, we are watching the same fight as the judges but I don't see to many having buckland anything like 116-113..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Joshua looks the real deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Huge talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

    F**k me he is good

I guess when both fighters said that it could have gone either way, you'd would have to question weather it really was a poor decision. But I take your point, it's all subjective.

Rees was very magnanimous in fairness to him.

Seems a nice fella alright, good talker and if he keeps progressing could be a decent prospect. Let's not forget how good David price looked against this kind of opposition and how he fared against a legit guy.

Very much so. Seems incredibly level headed too. No reason why he won't be British Champion by about fight 7 or 8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭Deiseboy01

I think he'd smash Tyson Fury let alone Hughie. Such an athlete at 17 1/2 stone. Makes most other heavies look like lazy slobs.

Hearn needs to push him on fast. No point fighting cannon fodder.

Fight less, spare better quality and move him around. The States, Europe. Build his name globally because he can be a global star with the right attitude. And a chin obviously, that's the unknown.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Joshua's next opponent went 9 rounds with Derek Chisora last year so should be a decent challenge.

Anyone think Munroe can do Selby here? I think he will pull the upset

Still annoyed Munroe and Dunne never happened! Munroe has always been very underrated but is past it know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Munroe looks in fantastic shape, although he always has over his career.

Hope Selby loses. Have a severe dislike for him - not particularly sure why, mind. :pac:
