    Hi folks,

Is it normal to bloat after eating? I am a healthy weight (BMI is 20) and when I wake up in the morning my stomach is flat. However, after a meal or two it bloats out. Is this normal or is it just me?

I don't bloat after eating, I wouldn't have thought it was "normal", to me it suggests something you ate is upsetting your digestion. Everyone gets a bit "fatter" as the day goes on with water retention, in a slim person this might be noticeable. Bloating after a meal isn't something that happens everyone I'd say. The last time I was bloated after anything was Stephen's night when I ate far too many Pringles for someone who rarely eats them. My husband would sometimes bloat after eating random things but he has some form of IBS (IBS just being a broad term for we don't know why your digestion does this!)

Is there a common denominator in the foods that make you bloat?

Perhaps post up a sample diet?

Keep a food journal for yourself and keep note of any times when you find the bloating worse also so you can see are there any foods that are particularly bad for creating the bloating?
