Isn't the harvesting of rhino horns and their collecting a bad thing?

What on earth would he want one for?

    C635

I dunno. What would he want one for C635. Apparently he had a full rhino in his hunting room C635.

He has his house filled with antiques and collectables, could be a mounted head or sumat. I'm guessing the house isn't open to the public, prob the gang are crusing interiors /celeb magazines or websites for intel.

I don't understand peoples outrage for him owning few ol' rhino horns myself... and over looking the fact that a mans private property was broken into by some low life thieving scum bags.

Rhinos are horrible dangerous creatures in any case and fair play to the dude who managed to take one down.

    What total wankology.
It's not like someone went out and wrestled the beast - it would have been shot, hardly a fair fight now. You can kill anything with a big enough gun, it doesn't make you some big brave warrior.

One of the poorest and lamest attempts at trolling that has blighted this forum in a long time.

You need to be a good to make the first shot count else they come charging at you doing 40Km per hour... it's a lot harder to keep your composure and get a decent shot.

If it was an armed raid, then I really feel sorry for the guy. I most definitely would never want to go through one of those.

Flately had his horn stolen. Police are searching for two hardened criminals.

I suppose in someways, it's kinda like trolling. Goods ones are a lot harder to find than people think.

Its a wonder that none of the raiders left with a broken nose. Was'nt Flatley a boxer in a former life.

So by your logic we should kill off more Rhino's, Lions, Great Whites, Bears, sure why not throw a few Tigers in there?

Meh.. I can't say I would loose any sleep over any them. I'd a lot more concerned about the predatory scum that are roaming our own country and get the same "protected species" treatment by our law enforcement and left leaning judiciary.

It's doesn't make Flately a Monty Burns either.

It's likely that the rhino horn was on a rhino head mounted on the wall, and as trade in such items is illegal except in the case of museum peices then it's likely that the rhino was probably shot about a hundred years ago, it's even possible that it's been hanging on that wall ever since. We don't even know if he bought it or if it justa happened to be part of the contents of the house.

maybe it was the rhino come to retrieve what is rightfully his....oh no, wait.....the would be wrong as the rhino was probably mutilated to death so somebody could have/sell its horn

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,264 ✭✭✭✭jester77

Same as earlier posters, what was he doing with one anyways? Is he like Mr Burns? " See my vest, see my vest, made from real..." and on it goes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,904 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

It's not nice to have your home robbed and worse if you are there but the fact remains that an endangered animal was shot just so Mr Flatley could display the rhino horn at his home.

And the sad part is that it's the dealers that make all the money, the poachers are mostly dirt poor and are probably only paid a pittence and ofton hack off the horn while the rhino is still alive :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,420 ✭✭✭Lollipops23

What kind of sicko mounts a stuffed rhino head on their wall?:eek:

I hate seeing parts of dead animals on display in fancy houses/hotels, but it's so much worse that it's an endangered animal.

    Sick fúcker.

None of those scenarios make it any better that he had it. Even buying an antique horn feeds into the overall demand...the fact that he has a "safari" room indicates that he's quite happy to glorify trophy hunting.
