Nearly complete a 4 week slim belly programme in my local gym which I really enjoyed. Lost a little bit of weight but I lost 7 inches odd my waist( measured above and below belly button), Have to be measured again thursday when Im finished so Hoping that will rise.

But Ive decided to join the Gym now to do weight training,

Just wondering can anyone tell me what kinda losses I can expect?
With a good diet, (High protein, Low carbs) can I expect to lose weight? Or would I be better mixing in Cardio aswell?

    Diet at the moment is:

Breakfast: Wheatabix and milk ( no sugar)

    Snack: Protein Shake and/or orange

Lunch: Brown rice, chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms and chillis (all mixed with a garlic and herb powder mix)

Snack: Either a protein shake or Omlette with peppers, onions, chillis and ham

Dinner: Mostly the same as lunch, without the veg most of teh time because Im in work (Should be having tuna but i dont really like it)

Snack: Protein shake or omlette, depending on what i had earlier

No, This depends on the amount you eat vs how much you burn, a healthy diet does not mean that you will lose weight, you can overeat on healthy food. Its just slightly easier to overeat on junk food.

You could be eating the best diet in the world, if you eat more than you burn you will gain weight. that simple.

(High protein, Low carbs, High Fat)
That bit is important. they are the macro nutrients in your diet. 2 are compulsory. carbs are not really compulsory. If you drop carbs you need to up the fat to compensate.
Very low carb diets trigger ketosis, you should find out about it before going low carb.
Some people may suggest going high protein, and carbs and fats at about the same, with higher levels of carb on days when you train.

Cardio is optional, its a good way to exercise your heart and lungs, and if you need to burn more calories during your days. If you dont want to do it dont do it. Just make sure your calorie total in is less than what you burn.

Way way more veg, eat leafy greens and colorful vegetables.

Try to not to get your protein from shakes, try to get it from food. This is in order to control your diet.

as far as I can tell your only protein is coming from chicken at lunch. and some eggs as a snack. get more from your food.

track all the food in a food app or calculator, myfitnesspal is a good choice, there are others just as good.

Weight training will lead to some weight loss, assuming your diet is correct. The main benefit should be around body composition though. You'd be better off focusing on how your clothes fit rather than a number on the scales.

You lost 7 inches from your belly in 4 weeks? That sounds pretty impressive to me. What did this program involve?
    Well done by the way.

7 inches was in the first 2 weeks, 5 above my belly button and 2 below.. it involves wearing a belt that concentrates heat on your stomach while you excercise

The belt does nothing for you when you exercise. The exercise does.

Your weight may not drop dramatically, but your body will change shape so don't panic if the number on the scales doesn't move for a week, as you could have lost an inch from your waist.

Make sure you're getting a proper demo on the weights, you'll get much more out of them if you're using the correct form. YT videos are great for this too if you're lost.
