I am 4 days into this...suffering from massive headaches. Apparently they are sugar withdrawls.

Anyone else do this? What was it like for you? Any recipe recommendations? The food I am making looks rather depressing on a plate.

Its a keto diet, right? High fat very low carb. You have ketoflu, it'll pass once your body adapts.

    How's your water intake?
One thing bound to give me a headache, particularly if I've done any kind of decent work out that day, is not drinking enough water.

What are you eating? I am on day 3 of a very low carb/high fat diet and would be interested to see if we are eating similar stuff.

So far today I have had
4 eggs and a tablespoon of butter, Coffee with coconut milk
    Some grapes and a carrot
Bacon and cabbage and a tablespoon of butter

Will probably eat twice more today and i will also be going to the gym at some stage.

I'm having plenty of water. Was told to limit this to 1.5L, but I am drinking as much as I need/want

Breakfast is fine: eggs and bacon, eggs and smoked salmon.

Lunch and dinner: meat (no turkey, chicken or white fish:() w/ an assortment of green veggies. I think its just the plate of green doesn't look/taste the nicest.

Thats what I'm having tonight...but gammon steak. I guess it just gets a little boring after 4 days.

As far as I remember you're not "allowed" any fruit first two weeks and veg other than green
Fainted twice at work on day 6 although told my "trainer" I'm not doing well on zero carbs (I'm not much into them anyway but need my fruit /carb heavy veg). Turned out she did a weekend course and blindly followed whatever was on the paper
I think keto is not a way to go, once you introduce carbs back, you're body will store every last bit of the energy

Its not 0 carbs, its usually under 50 and often around 30. Differs from person to person.

" once you introduce carbs back, you're body will store every last bit of the energy" <-- no it won't!

Well as you said it depends... even veg has carbs so 0 is almost impossible
Yes, I started retaining water like crazy and put on good few pounds, metabolism went insane.
Took me a good while to go back
Keto is not for everyone and I would think twice recommending it

Hi. I'm on day 6 at the moment. Had headaches on day 2 & 3 but thankfully they are gone now. This is my 2nd time doing it too!

Menu wise I've been eating bacon & eggs for breakfast. Salad for lunch with lettuce, boiled eggs, beef or ham, cream cheese. Dinner: gammon steak, beef, duck, avacado, mushroom, cabbage, broccoli etc. Drinks: tea with double cream, protein shakes made with alpro soya light, grapefruit. It is tough but it does get easier! Also if ur looking to add flavour ur allowed franks hot sauce!

    Best of luck!

I think people seems to be eating way too much protein compared to fat.

If you fainted and felt very weak, then you were probably not eating enough.
Starting with a typical carb heavy, low protein, low fat diet. And then reducing carbs to 50g or less will leave you seriously lacking in energy.

You need to increase protein a decent amount. And increse fat by a lot.

Retaining water is not really energy.
It's also caused by a carb heavy diet, not by the keto phase you did.

Who said I ever did carb heavy diet? I
My only point was it's not for everyone and people should educate themselves before starting this programme /diet
