Firstly, sorry for the delay guys. We've put a good bit of effort into trying to get the best courses within reasonable travel for everyone this year.

As we had a great day out first in Esker Hill last year, we've decided to head there again for our first outing. I know we chatted about a links for the first one but with the spread of the society getting one to suit proved difficult but its something we may look at later in the year. We have booked and hour of slots but more are available before or after if we need them.

I hope to have the rest of the list of courses finalised later today, most are booked but there's one or two still to come back to me with definitive times - hence the delay in posting them.

Looking forward to seeing you all out again this year.

No need for apology as the captain and the committee are the ones doing all the hard work.
Great choice, looking forward to the start of it. Will pencil it in!

I would expect slightly better this time around Dar, we wouldn't have been in contention even if we added our scores together that day.

Really going to try make this my 1st ever boards outing. Pretty sure I've nothing clashing around that time & have never played the course either so a perfect excuse to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Hopefully lessons will have had the desired effect & I manage to play something resembling golf on the day

Looking good for me. Checking with missus but with this much notice should be fine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭spacecoyote

Just to check Charlie & the rest of the committee...

Is the plan to use Teamer to send out the invites again & do we need to confirm details?

Anyone looking to sponsor some prizes for this and some of the events over 2014. I would be happy to sponsor a couple of prizes as I know a few people in the golf business that would be happy to supply some gifts in return for a little exposure. Will someone private message me about this.

Hi, all the society events are €30 for golf only as we let everyone who has time to hang around after order their own food. Having played here before I can tell you that the food is great and not that expensive either.

Going back to the €30 - this is a flat fee we charge for every event. Some courses are cheaper and some are more expensive so we are able to subsidise this when it happens. We have one course on the list this year that's considerable more but we sill hope to be in a position to subsidise most of the balance. This is our way of rewarding the members of the society.

Great choice for the first outing. Location is good for most and the course is one of the driest parklands around. Looking forward to it! Only one round played so far in 2014 so I'm hoping that will change before this outing.

Just found out the boss is going out on the 22nd. Can't complain she has organised it since before Christmas.

After two seasons of dipping in and out this has to be the one where a sustained challenge for the ryder jug team has to happen. Looking forward to the year ahead already

    Charlie,

Can you add me as well? You already have my mobile...

Wasn't sure if the teamer email was sent, must have missed it. I've signed up. 21 so far, great number so far.

I'm sure there'll be a few that have to drop out but hopefully there are more late comers to match that and some.

I won't make it but would love to play later on as a visitor as the membership fee may not pay for itself in the course of the year. Cracking course though.

well guys no. 3 arrived yesterday so i got the other pair to bed early this evening and settled in to enjoy my last night of freedom and doing sweet FA for a while as they will be coming home tomorrow!

all is going good so far with the little one, so hopefully after 3 weeks she (yes, another girl... i can't wait till they are all in their teens :roll eyes: ) will be settled in enough to allow me to slip off to have a game of golf, but i can't imagine any practice beforehand.

so all going well here, i hope to see yis all in esker hills

i think i'll slip it into the car in the morning but leave the rest of the clubs in the kitchen so as to not raise any suspicions :P

All are welcome, just drop charlieIRL or pistolpete a PM with your name and number and you'll be added to the teamer. €30 to join the society and €30 per round. I think! Great crack and great lads and girls to get involved with.

PS:- must love golf, good or bad!!!!
