I won't be doing anything in the big race tomorrow, but I really can't see past Hurricane Fly. Unbeaten at Leopardstown over this trip and has recently dispatched all of the opposition it runs against tomorrow.

One I will be watching out for is Ann Stokell's only ride, Satwa Laird, at Wolverhampton in the 4:30. Horse is now at an incredibly low mark and looked a reasonably competitive last time out. Probably won't win tomorrow, but the race it takes part in is an incredibly low grade affair. Have taken the 12/1 (BOG) from Powers as I won't be around tomorrow, but can see it trading higher before the off.

Have a feeling it might be a Ruby Walsh day tomorrow.

Felix Yonger, Sure Reef & Wrong Turn all look good to me.

I like Character Actor in the 2.00
12-1 ew It finished 1.5 lengths behind
Treat Yourself last time out, who goes up 2 lbs

Won't be backing any but Simon Crawford really seems to like his horse even if he thinks he may benefit from the run

Is it a pointer that Cooper opts for Trifolium over Mazaltov?
I liked the way he cruised into contention behind Defy Logic last time but didn't find enough. Not sure if he will reverse form with him again but 9-1 ew seems a bit of value especially with doubts over Felix Younger on the ground.

trifolium wouldnt be mad on this ground either, mozoltov will love it though and even though hed prefer farther id give him a good chance now

Think he'll win the Arkle come March but won't be having a bet on Felix Yonger today, given the ground. Defy Logic going left on heavy will be very hard to beat and Mozoltov has to be respected on preferred ground too. If FY wins in today's conditions though, he'll be a 7/2 shot for the big one after. Here's hoping!

With all the rain that has fallen last night and this morning it should help HF but I believe Our Conor is the horse to watch for March.Dessie Hughes said prior to the last run "he will need it and will need his next run which will leave him spot on for March".He is a good action horse so todays conditions are against him but I will be watching him very closely.3.40 Corskeagh Royale 20/1 his jumping has improved lately and If Carberry can get him really jumping he is no 20/1 shot and has form on this ground.Trinityelitedotcom 9/4 is very big as I predicted 6/4 last night. There must be something backed to beat it but His style of racing suggests he is better for another few pounds. He is well drawn compared to Fahys and 9/4 looks way way to big, will back this.I believe Jacob gave my top fancy yesterday a very poor ride and he faded close home[fancied for the National].

Will Kinsey again puts a leading jockey on his bumper horse at Sedgefield, Allbarnone, so would expect a decent run.

Dessie Hughes horse in the first is a nice price (9/1). Only nailed close home by Clondaw Court on St.Stephens Day the drop in trip should be in his favour in what isn't the strongest looking maiden hurdle

Stuccodor, Defy Logic, The Way We Are, Gilt Shadow small accumulator for an interest.

Danny Mullins as weak as dishwater at the close there.

The horse emptied out fairly quickly there. Travelling nicely coming around the bend and then nothing when asked

Some money for Defy Logic. Going to be a great race!

    Felix Yonger 11-4
I like this regardless of ground

Ground looks like it barely passes for heavy

Absolutely - times yesterday certainly didn't suggest the ground was that bad.

It was the value for sure. Great ew. But wins !

Yikes. Davy Russell was massively positive on Trifolium in yesterdays Star and Cooper having picked him, signs were there. Happy enough with Felix given the trouble he found himself in. Pretty confident he'll reverse form on better ground if they meet again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

I know there's the risk that Champagne Fever could go Arkle now but the 16/1 Lads are giving about Felix Yonger is a massive overreaction! Was never gong to be his best on that ground today (look at his defeat to a rag over Christmas) and should be judged on his Navan run when he trounced Trifolium on GY. 16/1 is a STONKING price!

Rock on ruby for the arkle is becoming more and more appealing

Our Conor at 5/1 is starting to look like a bit of value now.

Our Conor completely dead on Betfair again

Russel tipped the first 3 winners today in yesterdays star. 10er trixie would have paid 3300. his next one is hurricane fly. Some tipping

Barry Orr and Tom Lee are starting to remind me of Laurel and Hardy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Im expecting McCoy to go for home earlier than the last day on Jezki, he just doesnt seem to have that turn of foot HF has so maybe a change to these tactics might see reverse placings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Was hoping Hurricane Fly might touch 4/6. Doesn't look like it's going to happen now with the weakness of Our Conor.

Plenty if 4/6 available all morning. Thought it was very fair, especially with them racing in the inside course

Not with Ladbrokes, Powers or Boyle though.

I wonder if Barry Geraghty would give me 11/10 Hurricane Fly? Sounds like he might.

Our Conor massive price at 5/1, never backed against HF in my life but if something was to tempt me now is the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭hawkhead

Really looking forward to this now

Great race and what an amazing horse he is.

On better ground in March do I think Our Conor has a great chance

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

    Great race

Jezki makes another error (don't think it cost him the race or anything) 2 out. With McCoy bringing him from last he was widest of the 3 coming towards the 2nd last. Must admit thought Our Conor had him turning for home

Tell you what, if Mullins goes and eyeballs HF earlier, gets him out of his comfort zone, I think he wins.

Great win for HF, but OC the one for March, after that, for me. Still not 100% fit.

Top class horse and top jockey.

    Jezski never in it.

Our Conor ran a top race and will have a great shout in March.

Great champion though, up there with Istabraq.

Ruby inviting the young guns to come at him after the line. Brilliant!

Dont like how close Captain Cee Bee finished :confused:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,931 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Jezki even beaten by the second string. Where's Motivator now?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,564 ✭✭✭kiers47

Captain cee bee was incredibly close. I'm sure it was a tactical affair but surely that's after putting a spanner into te works.
Not sure what to think of it really. Good to see our Conor running to the line and hats off to the 19th grade 1 win for the champ.
