    Hi,

Some of my friends are thinking of going to kettlebells classes, I don't know if it might be too much for me.

I go for a brisk walk of about 35-40mins two/three times a week.

I am worried that kettlebells could be too much for me?

    Just start of light.

    Everyone had to start somewhere.

    Do it. :)

    That doesn't make them bad!

Kettlebells have been around for ages. I think both kettlebells and TRX are a great way of getting some exercise. As with everything, doing the movements with correct form is important.

O.P. Go for the kettlebell class. As has already been advised start off light and work your way from there.

Written by someone who obviously has no idea about the potential of kettlebells.

Kettlebells can be used as a seriously effective tool for building power strength and fat loss given that they are though and programmed properly.

The way they are marketed may make them sound like some what of a fad but that by no means takes away feom their effectiveness.

As stench blossoms has said start off light. Yku will progress very quickly and be more than capable before you know it

Find a good class/trainer in your area. They should teach you some basic safe techniques before any level of intensity is applied.

Sure this whole working health thing is passing fad! It will be all replaced by taking a pill in the next 10 years, might as well just sit on your arse till then! ;)

No harm in going to one class just to see what it's all about. If you don't like it then you don't have to continue.

Without proper training kettlebells will be to much for you- worse repeated poor form over time on say the swing could cause injury.

Get lessons- get confident using kettlebells the get working enjoy

You'll be grand. As somebody already said, start off light. When I staryed kettlebell classes, I wouldn't even have been able to go for a brisk walk like you do. :o I started off on a 2.5kg kettlebell (great doorstop!), and now i use 16kg, or two 12kg if I'm doing something that requires two.

You can build up your strength, just start off light and have fun :)
