Is this the really the new Williams???

That nose leave me speechless ......

Something tells me we are going to see worse than that.

Do wonder about these new noses, is it going to act like a ramp if car gets into something, deflect stuff up towards drivers head. I know there are other factors like not spearing into car but hope it won't lead to other issues

Why are they leaving the regs in such a way that super ugly is the best design. I mean scarbsf1 and others have been able to highlight this possible design about a year ago. Surely they could have outlawed a narrow section like this at the tip.

A low angled pointed nose with a tip on it is going to act like a spear? I mean if they hit a car in the side they risk busting coolant/oil radiators like seen with Mark Webbers car. Or even the battery packs as we know they are under the drivers seat.

I have to say, this is really going to be such an interesting season. Random engine failures, new drivers and different looking cars. No matter what, from that point of view, the unknown and variables are going to make it great! :D

Be interesting to see the difference in design between the Ferrari and Red Bull. If Ferrari get their design right from the start, I think they will have a very strong season. Overall I think they will have the most reliable engine, if not down on power, but the reliability is going to be the main thing.

That is freaky, I was thinking the same monkey and was looking for a picture....!

Apparently they are changing the rules for next year so the anteater nose will be gone then.

Will there be any live showings of the car?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,320 ✭✭✭v3ttel

I'm really liking the Force India livery.

I don't mind how ugly that Williams nose looks, as long as the car is more competitive than last season. I would like to see Massa challenging for points.

He didn't really do that enough for me in a Ferrari last year, I wouldn't expect much personally.

An I actually don't mind the nose of the new Williams myself, I think its ok!

Anything is better than their 'walrus nose' a couple of years back! :pac:

The Walrus nose is like the Sistine Chapel compared to the Anteater :p

    Wow!

There's some serious design gone into the rear part of the car too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Technoprisoner

ugh the nose is rotten and the rear wing looks way too narrow

Lotus going Walrus, love it :) Seems as though they didn't want Mclaren to steal the limelight....

I was thinking tweezers but yeah yours works too!

So we have the anteater, that MP4-29 is defo a dolphin and now the um, what he said. The new regs certainly throwing up some interesting designs at the very least.

I love the new lower stance of both cars! Very slick. Noses are fugly though. And not mad about Mclaren livery. Dull.

I still think the ones we've seen so far are better than any of the stepped noses from last year & 2012

The Mclaren from the side looks like bleedin Pinocchio!

Lotus build female car to "accommodate" other cars on grid...

Rabbits, Walrus's and fictional cartoon characters....jaysus!

    Bring on Australia!!! Can't wait.

Apart from the horrendous noses those cars aren't too bad. McLaren don't have any sponsors and Lotus don't have any tact releasing their car at the exact time as the McLaren to one up them for stealing Boullier...

The mclaren reminds me a bit of their 2009 car as for the lotus i dont know how they think its sexy.
Is one side of the nose longer than the other and no sign of Total on the livery

LOL. Wait to maldonado makes a banzai move and ends up facing the wrong way.

No surprise that Total are gone as they are in the oil business like PDVSA so you can't have competing sponsors in a team. Plus PDVSA bring more dough with them.

Suppose when you look at it that way.
With their situation they can really afford to lose big sponsors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,575 ✭✭✭ZiabR

I actually quite like the McLaren. Not sure about the nose on the Lotus though!

I wonder what the big difference in engine sound will be now. Hopefully its a nice loud turbo too! I wants those hairs on my neck standing up again!
