Hey, I am looking to get back into the gym and weight lifting
last time I was in the gym was over 4 years ago, so have lost touch with any real muscle I have left.

But too gain muscle I need fat, and too be honest I have none.
I believe this is down to my diet (which is no diet at all I eat practically anything, I'm like a horse for food:pac: )

I heard my mate tell me the reason I gain no weight could be down to my metabolism burning the fat/calories.

Is their any way to slow it down? Like I actually eat everything, I tried eating nothing but healty food for a month with high calorie count with protein and fat
then I tried eating nothing but heavy fatty foods for a week like curry chips, pizza all greasy stuff.

I am 6ft5, 4 years ago I weighed 92kg which is considered a healthy weight
today I constantly on 80-84kg sometimes even drops too 78kg which I consider very unhealthy

when I did the whole healthy foods for a month I gained NOTHING. and I was very strict with the diet.
When eating the fatty foods for a week, which really should of showed some sort of gain, I lost close to a kilo that week.

So ya once again I need help on how to decrease my metabolism if anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to try :)

You need to find out how many calories you're eating, then if you're not gaining weight, eat more. It's that simple. Even if you could 'slow down' your metabolism, it'll speed right back up again when you're eating enough to put weight on.

Also, while you will put on some fat from the caloric surplus, you certainly don't need fat to build muscle.

To gain muscle you need to eat more protein. How much are you eating a day now?

A genuine question, do you ever run into bother eating too much protein?
Have read a few places that max30% calories should come from protein.
Eat a nice bit of meat, cheese but eat plenty fatty cuts lamb etc.
have you ever got into bother with too much?

No issues personally. You need to ensure you have enough fibre in your diet though. I'd eat around 150-200 grams of protein a day.

You just need to eat more and get at least 200g of protein in every day.

Try 4000cals / day for a fortnight. If you dont gain weight try 4500... If you gain more than 0.5kg back off on the calories a bit. You will find the number that allows you to grow slowly

even with a fast metabolism you would only burn through an extra 100-200 calories over someone else of the same size.
@6ft5 you are simply big and have a lot of body to fuel.
if your mate is shorter than you he will need less food than you.
fat needs less fuel, so if he weighs more than you and is fat then he will need less than you.

if you want to gain weight then you just need to eat more. Barring some medical dietary disorder you're not gaining weight cos you are not eating enough.

You think you are eating "everything" but you really arent. Id be willing to bet on any given day I eat more than you and im 6 inches shorter.
