This is very cool and no ulterior motive by a PR or media company on the video that I can see. Yet it looks like someone put a fair bit of work into this

I was kinda hoping it would be a rendition of the song performed by the junkie rapper on grafton street.

It seems to be the same people over and over again. I'd imagine its for something. I'd imagine once its gone viral, the spin will be revealed.

    Ad for Guinness, clearly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,258 ✭✭✭Boscoirl

It needs to be in Irish. Then it would be cool.........

No, Guinness ads are generally very good.

I like seeing people having a laugh and not caring what the people around them think. Not sure I could dance in public like that. It's a nice video.

I think I just got the "thing" about it: it would seem there's loads of these versions of the song on YouTube filmed in different cities around the world. "Happy in Krakow" etc

Terrible song. Insufferable and pretentious video.

There's a comment from Discover Ireland on the YouTube page
Just being in Dublin city makes you... well, happy!

Mother of god... it's state sponsored spam

I prefer the G funk era funked out with a gangsta twist myself.

It's like the Harlem Shake only 10 times as long.

A nice idea, but a bit sh*t IMO.

Take away the music and it's just a few people looking weird while everyone else goes about their day.

It's forced fun via a soundtrack and an edited video.

I find it pretentious and cringeworthy.

There's just no substitute for real, spur of the moment, captured in the moment by chance fun.

Clap your hands if you feel like a room with a roof.

    A room without a roof.

I dunno, it's like you took the total opposite meaning from the song than what Pharrell Williams was trying to express.

How on earth are they hipsters?

I think "bloody hipsters" is a phrase used by hipsters in disguise.

A bit like Transformers except with skinny jeans

The term does have a specific meaning (ish) but it just gets thrown at anything at all by some folk.
Dancing to Pharrell - hipster... even though hipster is supposed to be about being anti mainstream. Ok.

I've seen this for a few cities, well I've seen one for amsterdam anyway, my conclusion after watching the irish one....we cannot dance but we give it socks anyways

This is class. There are so many negative whingers on Boards, that it's nice to see something positive. And I think one of them served me coffee before. No matter what you do on this site, some dirtbag comes along and downs it with oh so they think they are too intelligent comments, I'm sick of it cos they prob read the daily star in their underwear.

Are you trying to debase yourself beyond the perimeters of what I have already described.

    Woah, people actually wear jocks?

I shifted one of the peeps in the vid. The dude with the red scarf. Crazy days.

Yeah, nowt genuine about orchestrated crap like this, purely an exercise in "look at me!"

I do find that song annoyingly catchy though.
