    20140117_Light_Raw_Preview_BrockBatista_C-Home.jpg

With less than a week to go until the Royal Rumble event, tension in the WWE locker room is at an all-time high. Brock Lesnar will be in the house. So will – finally – Batista. Daniel Bryan, seemingly king of the world at the end of last week’s Raw, has a bull’s-eye on his back for this one. And with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship hanging in the balance next Sunday, what will go down on tonight's Raw?

WWE is focusing on the following

    1. Here comes the pain (According to Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar hasn’t been as impressed with Big Show’s recent hot streak as the rest of the WWE Universe has, will we see Lesnar & Big Show collide tonight?)

    2. Enter The Animal (After a 4 year hiatus, Batista finally returns to Raw)

    3. The prodigal son (Bray Wyatt’s seemingly successful plan to adopt Daniel Bryan into The Wyatt Family went down in flames last week when the submission master shed his Wyatt garb and – locked inside a steel cage with no one able to interfere – tore The Eater of Worlds apart. If Bray’s sermon on SmackDown was any indication, though, he’s not done with Bryan by a long shot. Can the fan favorite evade the preacher’s wrath, or is their gruesome rivalry finally coming to a head?)

    4. This time it's personal (The stakes were already high for Randy Orton’s WWE World Heavyweight Title defense against John Cena at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Yet The Champion of Champions still managed to up the ante by attacking Cena’s father at ringside last week, giving the former Champ a personal stake in the highly anticipated bout. How will Cena respond to Orton’s heinous actions in the last Raw before their match?)

    5. Here comes the Kane (The Devil’s Favorite Director of Operations has been teasing a potential return to his monstrous roots for some time now, displaying his mask in a glass case and throwing ominous threats in the direction of his enemies. But lately only one Superstar has managed to bring out the demon within: CM Punk. Harsh words on Raw led to an eruption of rage from the corporate heavy when he chokeslammed the former WWE Champion at the close of SmackDown. Might Punk’s anti-Authority mentality have resurrected The Big Red Monster?)

Looks like they're going to have the Wyatt family attack Bryan to write him off TV while he's dealing with his concussion. It'll prob be a backstage off camera attack.

It'd be great tonight if Batista had a rope shaking match with the Ultimate Warrior. :pac:

Wonder if him acting all babyface on his twitter is a swerve.

His heel run towards the end of his last run was his best work imo.

Would love this. Dean Ambrose is looking more and more like the real deal by the week. Obviously Reigns is getting the push and he is good but Ambrose with Piper was indicative of how well he could carry feuds going forward.

That would probably be the logical way to write of Bryan while he recovers from the concussion, or Bray could keep targeting Bryan swearing he'll be sorry for his betrayal of The Family

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bryan there tonight cutting a promo to keep the momentum going.

Bryan comes out at the start of the show, cuts a promo saying he's realised his mistake in joining The Wyatt's, just as he's about to get the crowd chanting YES!, lights go out.... Bray appears on the Titantron distracting Bryan, which allows Harper & Rowan to jump Bryan, beating him 6 ways from Sunday, and that's Bryan written off television to recover from his concussion, Bryan stays super over, and The Wyatt Family get heat for taking out Bryan

Probably best to have Bryan "beat up" when the lights go out tbh with the concussion

Oh, and are we agreed tonight's show ends in the traditional roster-wide brawl? :D

"Is this a preview of what we're gonna see Sunday?!?"

You just know Cole is going to say it.

Yes for the best not to take any chances with a concussion.

They need to do something other than advertise Batista for the Rumble match.

And another on Smackdown? Or is that where Orton will stand over Cena at the end?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

I genuinely hope it's Heel-tista we get. His last run as a heel, although short lived, was the best of his career. Even the little things he did were class.

People are setting themselves up for a let down if they expect anything other than babyface Batista tonight. He may turn in future, but tonight will be babyface as can be.
