Setanta on a separate sky card?

I have sky but would like to take a setanta subscription - having it on a separate card. Is this possible? Will setanta supply a card? Alternatively, if I source a second hand sky box and expired card, can that be used instead?

They did it for me as I wanted to watch setanta on an old sky box which had no card. The only thing is you lose the itv channels etc. when the card is set up.

you could manually add the itv channels to "other channels" see sticky

I have a UK card also, so set up the card trick on the other box :-)

Was the old card originally registered to you or to someone else? Just wondering if this would be an issue....

I didn't have a card for the box. I explained this to Setanta & they sent me one.

I'm not sure if they send out cards any more, there was a thread about it ~2 months ago.

When I subscribed to Setanta a few years back I gave them the details of a spare card I had, weirdly Setanta was put onto my current sub card! Sky must've matched up my account details, it's probably better having it on your sub card as you won't have the Sky+ features on a separate card.

I know someone who picked up a second hand card and Setanta was put on it no problem, he had to pick up a second hand Irish one because Sky wouldn't put it onto his UK 'Freesat from Sky' card.

Can't go into any more detail than that but you can PM me about it if you wish.

There was a thread a while back about Setanta not giving out cards under the BAI Scheme without subscribing to the sports channels. Wouldn't think it applies if you're subscribing to their channels.
