Loan worry

My partner got a loan from a bank in 2008 and unfortunately was let go from his employment. He had PPI but it was not enacted. He did not pay the balance of 30% and continues to be extremely annoyed with the solicitors letters and does not even read them. He will not contact them to even discuss it. This is worrying me and I think I should do something about it, as I did spend half of the loan. What action should I take?

Whose loan is the name in? If you are not on the loan, the bank will not discuss it with you. He is the only person who can do anything about it.

He needs to sort it out and get on the right track with the bank. Head in the sand could cost him down the road if he ever has any ambitions like getting a new car, buying a house etc.

It's not in my name, but its in the hands of the solicitors now. Do you think they would discuss it with me if I offered to pay a weekly amount?

Check the PPI again, why was a claim never made?

I remember he tried to make the claim but they would not enact it for some reason or another. They said he was not entitled for it to be enacted. He received letters re; the investigation and they advised that it was not mis sold to him.

Look at it again, there have been multiple issues relating to mis-selling of PPI, you really need to run this by a financial advisor. Whilst they denied liability a few years ago things have changed since.
