so, i know how to port forward, ive done it on many routers in the past.
i have the port in both the public port range and the target port range.
The target IP address is my IP behind the router e.g. 192.168.192.10..

    Nothing.

When I use a port checker tool with my public IP such as
    http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

it says my port is closed.

Ive been on to the UPC page about this, they say the routers have port forwarding but they dont supply support for it.. seems like a bit of a cop out to me, heres something on the router, we are not arsed helping you to use it tho..

Anyways.. can anyone shed light on why it wont work for me?

I have port-forwarding set up on my horizon box, no problems. I use the same port for both public and target, although that shouldn't be necessary. Have you checked to make sure that the target machine is actually listening on that port?

Make sure you use your internal network IP address to test internally, you can't use your external address from your own network

Is the computer firewall blocking the port perhaps?

I mean, check if the port is open on the target machine from inside the network. There's no point trying to troubleshoot port-forwarding if you can't verify that the port on the machine is actually listening

Yep , interesting thing. But my "Advanced Settings" are locked with message "This feature has been disabled." as well as the 5GHz wireless is not available as well :( Anyone have an idea?
