Just wondering, i am crossfit training atm and trying to maintain a good diet.
I drink roughly 1 litre a day. Is that too much?

    Thanks

That depends on what else you eat and drink over the course of a day but I'd say you're probably alright...

What's your goal? Put on muscle? Lose weight?
What kind of milk are you drinking? Full fat, low fat, slimline?

I'd imagine there are a lot of calories in 1 litre of milk so would definitely not be ideal for losing weight.

Your crossfit instructor should be able to answer that question for you as he/she will know what your goals are.

Milk is calorie dense, you need to work out your calorie allowance and see if it fits in with your diet.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

There's about 650 calories and 35g of fat (mostly saturated) in a litre of full fat milk - about 3 times as much as in a large fillet steak :D

And then there's the 55g of sugars too...

Depends on what else you are eating. Milk itself isnt bad.

dont forget 30+ grams of protein, loads of calcium and b12 and a good whack of b6 and magnesium too

    @op define bad?
Its all dependant on your goals. if you are trying to lose weight then it is calorie dense and not very filling, so a liter would be probably a 3rd of your total daily allowance.

Ive heard some people get digestive problems from it, even if they are non lactose intolerant.

It's not inherently evil per se, but in truth I wouldnt trust it to do my taxes.

However, it is very good for piling on body mass in a hurry, also Ive seen reports that babies enjoy it.

So in conclusion: good with kids, bad with money, great for adding weight, probably best avoided in large quantities if trying to lose weight. May or may not try to take over the world (inherent evilness to be determined)

You hear a lot of claims both for and against milk, but my gut feeling on the topic is we're mammals - how bad can milk really be.
You can pretty much replace every word of nutritional advice you will ever hear with one word - moderation. Practically anything, in moderation, is fine. You have evolved as an omnivorous mammal, you can pretty much eat and drink whatever the hell you want to, the key is to cast your net wide and eat small amounts of a wide variety of foods. The narrower the focus the, worse the diet.
