Who to follow for the remainder of the playoffs?

Not really sure who to shout for for the remainder of the playoffs.

I'd like to see the Chargers do it but I expect the Broncos the beat them handily tonight.

What's left? The brash, loud and classless 49ers with their brash, loud and classless coach? No thanks.

    The Seattle PEDhawks? Hardly.

The Pats? Everyone hates the Pats, their coach and their fans. I ain't gonna be shouting for them.

The Broncos? They have their PED problems too, not half as bad as the Seahawks obviously, but I kinda like Peyton. It'd be nice to see the best Quarterback of his generation win another Superbowl too should they get past the Chargers tonight. Fox is a pretty likeable sort as well.

The Chargers? If they win then I will definitely be following them all the way. Love what McCoy, Whisenhunt and Rivers have done their this year.

Who are you going to shout for?

If Broncos win I'll be hoping power failure is able to go one step further this year and win the Superbowl

I'm just going to sit back, relax and enjoy the games. I nearly gave myself a heart attack last year with the Ravens run so in a way I'm glad of being able to do so.

Sorry noob, get your facts straight - everyone hates the Cowboys.

Sorry noob, get your facts straight - everyone hates the Cowboys.

Most people hate both. Even as a Pats fan you have to admit that. While a lot of it is down to begrudgery and the fact that they always do well, a lot of it is because the team, coach and fans give other fans many, many reasons to hate the Pats.

Yes success breeds hate dislike. After 9/11 we were the darling boys and took down The Greatest Show on Turf. Everyone was a Pats fan. But like in any sport, people get fed up with consistent success. Like United or Barcelona, human nature kicks in and people get fed up with consistent success.

But the Cowboys? Yes everyone hates the Cowboys for many, many reasons that go way back. And having an insufferable príck owning the franchise right now, doesn't help their cause.

Would love to see Manning get another ring. He's had an amazing year and IMO he deserves to win this year.

4 great teams. Really looking forward to both games if Denver win tonight.

**** me, how does Jeff R not have a job on US TV. His analysis is excellent.

Not sure what the guy watching AF for the first time would make of him though.

I'll be shouting for the Pats if they are up against the Broncos. Don't know why but I find the Pats a lot less detestable recently.

In relation to the opening point the Chargers are the team to follow. Think they will give the Broncos all they can handle tonight.

He has been excellent throughout the play-offs. Also credit to the producers for giving him the platform to go through some proper analysis

I'll take that. I think after the shítfest of bad luck we've had from way back in preseason, I do think people have maybe given us a bit of sympathy this year. But since your a Giants fan, you owe us a bit of luck to go all the way this year.:pac:

Yea aside from Chris Collinsworth the co-commentators are awful. Not sure about the studio analysis

Yea that could be it, begrudging appreciation for what Brady & Bellichek do irregardless of who they lose.

I think this season is right up there as the Patriots best given the issues they have had on offense, losing Welker, all the injuries etc but are still here in January competing for it all.

A hall of fame coach and QB will always be competing. Just shows you what a great coach BB is to always have his team there or there abouts.

I'm going for the 49ers. Yeah JH might be liable to lose his mind at any time, but I'm a history guy and the niners have a very good history. I know that's not the best reason but it's my one.

To answer the OP's question you've got to ask.. Which team will have the best story for next years America's Game?

    Answer: The Patriots.

You start off with the Hernandez story, follow that with half the roster ending up on IR, yet the story culminates with a 4th ring for Brady and Belichick.

    Along the way you get:
A QB that holds for Field Goals and does a bit of punting on the side.
    A kicker that punts.
    A 240lbs punt returner.
And your #1 receiver is a former DB :).

Hell, America's Game may have to be a two-parter next year!

He is a full time coach and has been in the CFL the last few years and before that a college coach with SMU. Both seasons run to November or dec in college if they make a bowl as you know. Id say trying to get a part time analyst job on US tv is hard enough or time consuming.

Yeah I know all that, I just find it strange that a guy on UKTV is so much more articulate and technical than anyone I've seen on US TV.

I would have thought we would have got the usual cliches not some actiual proper analysis of the X's + O's. I find him excellent, but understand why he only shows up in the postseason.

To be fair low quality of analysis is seen in every sport. In Ireland somehow George Hook and Eamon Dunphy get employed when you'd get better analysis in the local pub, if you watch any rugby on sky you see people who must, having been professionals, know a ton about the technical aspects of the game but rather put everything down to passion and heart. I suppose TV stations just feel sports fans have a very low level of intelligence in general. But to be honest I can't understand anyone, however smart they are, liking the gimmicky crap you see so much on the US stations.

The Pats for me. The comeback against Denver, the injuries, they are a tough bunch and will run anyone close.

Also, if they win it all, it means we (the Colts) were beaten by the best!

I don't think I could imagine a worse case scenario than the Pats winning it out this year.

While very grudgingly admitting they have been brilliant this year, the taught of having to listen to them go on and on again for another year is stomach churning especially with how much joy they got from the Butt Fumble last year.

My choices would be San Diego(even though they are 3 minutes away from going out), Seattle, Denver, San Fran.

If the Pats were to pull it out this year, it would be worthy of going on about it for a year (at least)

What they have had to deal with this season is unreal

    The Pats.

People love to hate winners, but... If you lived in Boston for a Pats Super Bowl win you'd see they're fans - as a rule - are amazing people.

And who really can argue with their success??

Plus this sort of triumph over adversary thing is what NE sports teams do best ;)

In fairness I think every non-jets fan got a tremendous amount of joy from the butt fumble.

Probably a mix of things. Brady's window closing, somewhat of an underdog story, at a certain point the admiration for what a team/individual does overtakes most types of hate, etc. And there's still some mileage left in having 2 SBs wins.

Denver. If Denver lose then probably New England. Bill Belichick is the greatest coach who ever walked the earth and its not even close.
TBH I don't care all that much. Still crushed over Saturdays loss.

It wont be us but on the other hand, Denver are also a hell of a story:

    The end of last season.
Losing Dumervil to a broken fax machine.
Miller getting caught getting high and then cheating the drug test.
    Bailey hardly seeing the field.
Half the roster also ending up on IR, including two all pros.
Chris Harris tearing his ACL in the divisional round.
    Fox's heart attack.
    Manning's return to Indy.
Moreno's tears and the season he had.
    Manning's year in general.

Oh, and the all time highest scoring offence ever.

If the 49ers don't win it all (unlikely :pac:) I'd like it to be Denver, I'd like to see Peyton win another one before he goes. He deserves to be at least level with Eli in terms of rings.

I'm sure you would and so would I , but I really fail to see why fans can't see what is right in front of them.

Harbaugh got flagged for unsportsmanlike like conduct in the panthers game.

Guy looked like he was wired to a large generating station.

In my opinion and obviously the referee's that kind of behaviour has no place in the game today.

I contribute to several other forums on American Football and the overwhelming opinion is that Harbaugh is an intensely unlikeable coach and the 9ers are an unlikeable team.

Instead of attacking me, why don't you address the issues please

I'd be okay with Denver winning simply because I really like watching manning do his thing and I'm kind of sick of hearing American pundits question his legacy and all that nonsense. Also not a patriots fan, so that game's easy to call.

Really don't like the Seahawks, so that one's also easy.

Some fans don't care or see a problem with it.
Harbaugh got flagged for unsportsmanlike like conduct in the panthers game.

He should know better but hardly generalises the whole team as undisciplined.
Guy looked like he was wired to a large generating station.

Not abnormal to see very animated coaches throughout the game.
In my opinion and obviously the referee's that kind of behaviour has no place in the game today.

Well to be fair the Refs are going to bias on this as a lot of the sh1te is directed at them to begin with. So of course they will find no place for it in todays game.
I contribute to several other forums on American Football and the overwhelming opinion is that Harbaugh is an intensely unlikeable coach and the 9ers are an unlikeable team.

So do I and a few of the forums are coaching forums also and even among coaches it seems to be a fairly even split on Harbaugh and the 49ers attitudes.

The issue of Boldin also came up on a different board I am in and it was pointed out that Boldin has always been physical and mouthy especially when when making catches all over the place.

I actually don't agree that the 49ers are as ill disciplined as been made out. I find physical teams generally get picked on more because lets face it hard hitting physical teams are more noticeable so the media and fans notice more of the so called ill discipline compared to other non hard hitting teams.
