that squats/lunges, or just general working on the legs/bum will give shape to a bum that I've effectively lost through my recent fitness routine? :)

I don't go to a gym anymore so to get back started in a routine I have just being doing bodyweight stuff at home or using light dumbbells with my squats after my runs but I'm wondering would you recommended maybe introducing a kettlebell, or suggesting any bodyweight exercises that will make it look more shapely, otherwise I'm half tempted to just abandon it and go down the chocolate biscuit route to get it back :p

Previously at the gym I was never all too concerned with losing weight as such so I was really only weight training with cardio to get the heart rate up so I didn't have to worry about targeting areas really, but since then I've gained some so I'm losing weight at the minute but its never from the areas we want is it?! :pac:

I've only began so right now its pretty much forward lunges and squats with 5kg dumbbells.. and that's it! The running seemed to be shaping my legs nicely so wasn't too pushed about working my legs just yet. I used to have a friend help me at the gym but he has moved so its all new to me really without him there explaining it all and whatnot, I used to just show up and do the hard work which worked for me then but not so much now without him!

Sorry for the long post and thanks

So you want to add muscle to your ass?

    Heavy squatting.

    Lucky you

Bulgarian split squats are great too!

Yep I intend to start the weight training again once I've saved enough money for a gym membership, until then I'm trying to make do with what I have.

Thanks for that video, will give them a try.

    Squats and lunges, FTW.

In the meantime, you can do hip extensions and glute bridges to do a bit of groundwork.

    I do love squats.

As a result, I have a fantastic ass...

Honestly though, squats are the way forward, currently doing a very specific program based on squats, basically squatting 4 times a week, and I can see the difference 3 weeks into it.

Overall, squats will have a big impact on your body, not just your legs. It is important to get really good form on them, so you are hitting the right muscles in the right way. Doing them wrong and heavy will require a nice trip to the physio.

    Best of luck with them.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I appreciate it. I'm just worried squats on an already small ass will make it look a weird shape! :) I'm losing the shape from the sides from running. And from lifting and squatting previously it was adding muscle to an already round bottom so did work wonders but now it feels like the sides are deflated and muscle will only make it protrude more if that makes sense.

Currently I'm using the exercise ball at the small of my back to guide me a little as I used to use the smith machine (?) with someone spotting and guiding me at the gym, so I'm hoping this will help with form?

I've never talked so in depth about my ass to strangers before, honestly! :pac: so apologies and again thank you!
