With 16 gig of ram I'm guessing
You're doing more than just gaming?
    Psu would give a miss.

But just guessing hence Hans polo pointing out the template to fill in.

Opinions on the r9 lads? I thank I'd still prefer a Gtx 770

    1. My budget is approximately 1000e

    2. Mainly used for gaming (wanna run BF4 on ultra) but also do photo editing

    3. I'd need windows 7

    4. No old parts....currently run a laptop with an i7 and a 2GB radeon gfx with 8gb ram.

    5. I'd need a monitor, 19-22" is fine but good Hse resolution

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals?
I'd need a card reader and Wi-Fi card.
Already have roccat ryos mk pro and Logitech gs500

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking?
    What now?

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]
    All of the above

    9. When are you purchasing?
Probably in the next few weeks.....latest by end Feb.

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based?
Not gonna mention as this may identify me to my employer (from other threads)

16Gb was probably adventurous...8 would do.

Would probably throw in SSD for fast boot.

Don't have time atm to look at your build but that's the best answer I've seen to that question ha!

Depends on your point of view.
R9 has 4 gigs of ram. And can match gtx780 performance ya. But I still get nvidia . Have had 3 AMD cards and 2 nvidia. Nvidia never broke on me ,touch my chubby wood.. But this is just my luck. Can't ignore amds price points.

Anarchists your op build is fine. Just go 8 2 x4 gigs .
ram is very high priced right now but coming down . add more down the line.

A corsair 600w should do for tge r9 hell even 550 would still be safe. With savings from ram and sheet should have Nuff for SSD.

R9 290 anyday of thé week. Have a luck at benchmarks. Might want to wait for non reference coolers or could be out now, not sure, on phone so can't check. I'd probably go for a Xeon over an 8350 as well if no plans on overclocking.

But it heats like an absolute baxtard. I suppose just wait for the non reference... The tri x is due soon enough too isn't it?

    Hi again,
Thanks for the feedback. It appears the motherboard I was gonna order is out of stock so I decided to go with:
    ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
It seems quite similar to the PRO, are there any main differences?
    Thanks again.

Where are you ordering from, could probably get a slightly cheaper motherboard. The main difference I can see is the PRO has more PCIe lanes for dual X16 crossfire/SLI (as opposed to X8 for the EVO).

I'd get the FX-8320 and learn what overclocking is, even a very beginner could easily turn one into a FX 8350, and should save €35-40 which you can spend on a nice CPU cooler (For both silence and over clocking) ;)
