This is it, they're banking on ppl saying "ah sure, not arsed unsubscribing" or re-subbing for a live show or the archive and then leaving it roll over. They fudged the sub numbers in the post-Mania investor conf call and reported their free month subs in the general sub numbers. Bit cheeky that

A lot of the people who threaten to cancel their Network subscriptions are all talk, I'd wager. This week's Superstars has a couple of fun matches. Tyler Breeze vs. Kalisto is decent.

Haven't resubbed myself, haven't felt compelled to.

I'll consider resubbing after Payback provided we get a result better than "Roman winslol". Payback as a whole doesn't have too much though.

I doubt Roman going to lose esp to AJ Styles. I cancel mine but still have it till May 3 so get to see Payback. I would watch Holy Foley when it comes on even do I lost interest in Breaking Ground pretty fast.

I am glad to hear Roman as champ isn't good enough for some people. WWE have been catering to smarks this year with their amazing signings!

We've probably never had a roster as talented as we have right now. We're spoiled in that sense!

Oh I have little doubt Roman is leaving the champ, what I'm on about is Roman winning and making AJ look useless in the process.

I going to decide after Raw tonight whether to resub or not, to be perfectly honest I like the Payback card, it looks like a good wrestling show which is nice for a change.

They've got me back on the hook, now they just have to reel me in.

I'm not remembering correctly but are ye the same guys who were saying you unsubscribed from the WWE Network the night of or the week after WrestleMania? It sounds like none of you even stayed away a week. We're all loyalists I'd say, even if the product got even worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,546 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Yeah that's me alright, I never said I'd stop watching Raw, just that I'd stop giving them my money.

Based on how Raw is gone so far, I think I'll be staying unsubscribed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Really all we're paying for with the WWE Network is the access to the catalogue, which most of us probably own large chunks of already. I was glad to finally pay them something initially.

The day after Mania I cancelled it, I was paid up til the 10th.

I really struggle to get my head around the idea that any wrestling fan would not be willing to pay such a tiny amount for this incredible service that they're offering -- and indeed that any wrestling fan would not be keen to support the offering.

I'm not criticising, it's just an alien concept to me so I find it difficult to appreciate the other point of view.

I'm not trying to be smart with you, or anyone else in your position. But why would you still come onto a wrestling forum and still watch the product if you feel that badly about it? It strikes me that most people can't really turn it off like.

It's possible he watches wrestling that isn't WWE related.

I personally agree it's a fantastic deal, but I can see people getting way more than their fill after 3 hours of RAW, let alone SD or total Divas etc. Especially when everything
PPV results are inconsequential like at Mania vs Raw the next night!

Also, there are multiple issues with the back catalogue - they go through spurts of adding Raw in a semi-chronological order but not always. There's been little rhyme or reason in how they add other archive material. Smackdowns are sometimes added, some Nitros get added maybe once or twice a year. The "territories" stuff they added a few months ago was only stuff they had digitised for DVD releases.

It's a mess imo, I can't fathom the "support the service" idea myself. Also, people have multiple subs to other online services - Netflix, Spotify, UFC , NJPW World etc.

I'd love it if they actually put stuff into proper chronological order so that we could watch through a year as it happened. Like a playlist starting with the first 4 Raws and Smackdowns in January, then the Royal Rumble and so on. It'd save out a lot of searching and putting things together.

They could do the same with the Nitros and PPVS

I am glad that we have a service where PPV's aren't expensive, pretty sure people living in the US would agree with me since they used have to fork out between $50-60 for a PPV.

I used to only buy Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and WrestleMania on PPV each year.

I still have a passing interest in the product / WWE.

I still read the Raw live thread every Tuesday morning on the way to work.

    I still watch the big 4 PPV's.

I still actively hunt down matches / events that are mentioned in the MOTY thread.

I had missed the beginning of the Attitude era when it was on so used the Network to watch old Raws and PPV's.

I subscribed using an IP masker as soon as it was launched and watched what I wanted to watch.

From January to WM, I watched the Rumble, a couple of recommended matches from the NXT Takeover shows and WM itself.

I dont see the point in paying €12.99 for something I hardly used.

If we were getting quality PPV's every month, hell even if we were getting 50% decent PPV's Id probably still subscribe but paying what equates to €50 for 7 or 8 hours of wrestling is not value for money in my eyes.

WWE've blown their load with their back catalogue with their initial offering (pretty much every ECW, WCW and WWF PPV) so there's precious little more archive they have to offer besides notable RAWs. (Other territories wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting to the common subscriber) I imagine the jumping bits and pieces is to keep adding content whilst keeping it relatively fresh, instead of going chronologically.

I'd buy every one that isn't 'free' on Sky Sports, so it's a great deal for me!

Got an email earlier to sign back up and get a free month too, looks like I really can't stay away for long. :o

Anyone else who cancelled should probably check their email.
