Racism question!!

We are all familiar with racism.

I have a quick question.

I can deal with adults being racist but how to deal with kids on the streets calling racist names and cursing?

( I wouldn't hit them of course )

We've had this happen to us on occasion - either remonstrate with the parents or just ignore them. It doesn't excuse their behaviour but young kids don't know any better.

a) Not do anything, or
b) Pick a suggestion and run with it.

Get into the car you were handed by the Govt. at Rosslare port on the way into the country, fill it up with petrol using your "socialising money" and, instead of just leaving them on the bus, hit them out the window with one of your many disposable prams

Getting a car and driving instead of walking, dont make yourself a target, travel with other people, Children and gangs prey on weakness. I would guess they are scumbags more than racists, they pick on your race because it is most obviously the easiest thing to use to insult you, if you where Irish you may have the same situation only they call you fat, tall, short or wear glasses....anything that stands out.

Its one of the worst things about living in Ireland IMO, Back when it was legal to hit kids there was a lot less antisocial behavior.

He or she may well be Irish, you can be Irish and not be white, you know?

I have to take issue with the last part of your post. This is a common myth, I witnessed plenty of anti-social behaviour (hitting kids included) in the 70s. Hitting kids is abuse and should not be tolerated.

Give one of them a fright one day ? grab the biggest one by the neck and threaten them? Maybe you are too nice, Shallow people only bully nice people anyway because they think they can get away with it..
People who tend to be racist are normally not the brightest bunch anyway..If Mike Tyson or Bruce Lee were walking past the racists would be shown up as the cowards they are..

They dont come out everyday but when they do can be in that area regardless of street. Would calling guards at that point of time would be of any help?

You can try, but they generally aren't too much help, they'd prob give them a warning, could you get some friends to come support you? try the guards and hopefully that will deter them:)

These kids doesnt seem to fear to be honest. They racially abuse and curse in a way I cannot hit back with the same tone.

Thanks, I can try but that will help only if guards arrive on time as sometimes they are on their bicycles and just flee.

I dunno how you're not tempted to whack a rock off the back of their heads, next time they're at you, pull out your phone and pretend to talk to someone about them coming down to see them. Even describe what they look like etc, that could scare them a bit.

I once was mocked by a kid, he apparently was making fun by the way I walk, so he and his dumb friends were running around me doing a stupid walk, giggling, calling me names all that crap. I pushed their "leader" to the ground in the puddle of rainwater, they were scared as hell. kid even apologized before running away.

the only reason for this behaviour is because it is tolerated by the society. stop tolerating it and it will go away

The thing is imagine while I am holding a child onto ground and they start shouting and crying, what would that make me look like. If anyone is walking around, the first thing would come in their mind is to kick my ass if you know what I mean.

if he's old enough to bully, he's old enough to suffer the consequences. I didn't atempt to traumatize him, I just pushed myself out of a sticky situation, and I would do the same thing if I have to

i'm not talking about holding the kid down, just push it enough to show that you are not afraid to use force. believe it or not, no-one cares.
