[Hey, got a letter to say im having one done publicly in the mater in a couple of months.

Odd thing is that there is nothing about preparation on the letter, nothi.g about that awful cleanse drink either.

I did say to my doc I wanted to do it without sedation .

Should there be a prescription for that stuff on the letter ???.

Or do they do dirty scopes these days lol

When I had a sigmoidoscopy a while back I didn't have to prepare at all. I was just given an enema beforehand. Not sure if that applies here tho!

I don't know.... All I know is that I ain't listening to the fear mongers lol . Did the gastroscope without numbing spray or sedation and was easy peazy.

The hospital should send out a letter a week before the procedure with the instructions; what prep to buy when to take it, what to eat, what to bring to the hospital. If you haven't got it give them a shout.

Doesn't matter that the prep is on prescription because it's not covered by the drug refund scheme. Just bring the letter to your chemist and buy the prep.

The procedure its self is trivial - the prep is the tough bit. Good luck!
