If you aren't watching the SNS tonight, there are some great programmes about Dave Allen on BBC2. There's a nice documentary about Irish Olympians on TG4

Eoghan McDermott who recently presented Next Year's News and Totes Amazeballs is in to plug The Voice and his new 2FM Show

Dr Eva Orsmond won't be on Operation Transformation but they still dragged her in to talk about it, and her new book

Poet Rita Ann Higgins will be in discussing what led her to becoming a poet at a young age

And the real nadir, there must have been no-one else in the canteen, four people discussing the highs and lows of looking for love on the Web

Maybe he should have taken another week off like Tubs, it's a powerful weak line-up.

I take it Eoghan Mcdermott is taking over the vacant/pushed slot by Hector?

He's insufferable on the Voice, wasnt he made apologise to someone last year? & now i hear the UK Voice is now on at the same time/month as it was on Mar last year, he'll have to up his game.

I hope its a tell all book as Dr Eva from getting the push from RTE, maybe she wasnt 'pulling her weight' on the show
& pity Hector doesnt come on as that's the only thing that would be interesting on the show :rolleyes:

I cant believe they have given Eoghan McDermott the 2FM job.. Surely if they wanted somebody shouty and irritating they would have just kept Hector.. He's a good dancer, but my god's he's annoying.

Eoghan McDermott used to present on XFM in the UK and he was quite well regarded, apparently. There were rumours he was going to BBC Radio 1 but it never happened. He seems very shouty but maybe he tones it down on the Wireless.

Anyway, he is as enthusiastic about his appearance tonight as everyone else ...

If you are feeling depressed this weekend, allow me compound it further. I'll be on The Saturday Night Show this eve spouting nonsense.

One of the Everly Brothers passed away today. Brendan never had them on his show. Could he make an effort to get the Beverley Sisters on instead for RTE viewers before they pass away as well? They are all fairly old so it would probably need to be quite soon.

I've heard Eoghan on radio before, Spin 1038 I think and he was good in my opinion. Might be suited to a younger audience, rather than 2fm.

2fm's problem isthat they cannot decide who their target audience is. They make half hearted attemps at attracting the youth demographic but that demographic is simply not interested in 2fm.
Hiring shouty eoghan is another example of this.

I had to stop buying Pringles after Christmas. I keep eating them.
