Seen this ad on DoneDeal and thought it seemed more than a bit racist and mental...

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/peugout-307-1-4-hdi-02-no-polish/6104288

He's obviously never bargained with a Cavan man :D

What sort of looneys are out there ?
no polish, i will not sell this car to a foreigner they want everything for nothing so they can sell it for twice what they paid so don't ring Irish people only.

If you have little to,do you should ring him up in your best Eastern European accent trying to do a deal for €1,699. Pretend to be from Latvia, Lithuania or Czech Republic if he says "no Polish".

Lol. It's a Peug 307, one should just be glad anyone shows up to look at it really, irrespective of their nationality.

Not that I condone generalising any nationality but I was selling a car recently and some guys from a certain Eastern European country came, fount them quite aggressive and pushy eventually told them to pi$$ off! However some Latvian guys arrived later and were lovely to deal with.

85 miles for 10 euro diesel
    no polish

Thank God i have a friend from Brazil - I can send him to buy it for me, since these 2002 Peugeot are so hard to get. Then i can sell it for double the price:D

And who describes an economy as 85 miles/10 euro:confused:
Have no idea how to convert it to mpg...

He's claiming around 60mpg which isn't unreasonable I suppose if its driven easy... you'd tend to rag it though because they are a big heavy heap of scrap.

Wouldn't touch one with a bargepole! 307 is a horrible car and I'd never want to be seen in one!

I shouldn't but I get really thick about crap like this. Have reported the ad to Donedeal. If they fail to take action I'm sure it can be taken further.

I love Poles and the country. I'm with the missus nine years, visited 18 times and bought a place. They're great people.

Meh, everyone dislikes something - in this guy's case it's the Poles. I always laugh at people like him since I think people have bigger worries than selling their car to a foreign national.

He is selling a Cossacks coat too , could be a lot more to this fella than we think.

    Polish - great bunch...
Jokes aside, I am Polish, but didn't even find it offensive, more like stupid.
He probably had 1 person (who hapened to be Polish) viewing the car, and tried to give him an honest offer. He felt offended because his "soon to be" 12 years old car is worth 2k to him, so he blamed the person's nationality.
Needless to say ads like these might offend someone, but it is only damaging him tbh. Who would buy a car off the person like him?

I'm preparing my best eastern European accent right now, and I'm going to ring this guy tomorrow.

    Wanker.

You are of course right- I just have a low tolerance for people who instantly dislike folk for being foreign and I have a soft spot for the Poles :)

I dunno. Seems reasonable. I mean, I instantly dislike his car because it's French....

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 339 ✭✭maria34

As long as his irish wife is happy with her 141 car, that little yoke can rot in the garden area so. Worth 2000 after all!

Im not polish but would find that add quiet insulting.

I dislike it because it's awful. I like the 407 though.

    **** me what an arsehole.
Im irish and when I look at buying cars I always look for ways to get a car for half nothing and aim to sell for profit.

I give him a call and knock him down to €1450 with a bit of car polish thrown in :)

    Oh but wait:
"these cars are hard to get if your not willing to pay 1700"

Heres a better friendlier bargain (only a bit more mileage but not by much)
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/peugeot-307/6198101
sell "17 alloys and sound system for profit and i reckon final cost of buying is well under €1800 plus NCT to may '14.

I dont see any NCT on the earlier heap of **** plus its rotting with rust on rear passo arch as is.

    "car is in mint condition
    clean car body"

it is not, could have at least washed it too, the dirty knacker

Ad gone. Wonder will it re-appear in another guise?

This is a much more dignified thread than the 'aaand racism' one discussing the same ad .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,498 ✭✭✭obezyana

Has anyone stopped to think maybe it was a joke? Done Deal seems full of crap like this these days. Maybe the person who put it up is having a right laugh at all the talk about how racist the ad is.

No wonder I don't frequent AH anymore. Some scary human waste on that, I hope none of them are allowed to breed.

I'm not suggesting the ad is funny all I'm saying is that people are jumping the gun on this when it could be some lads idea of a joke and he may just be laughing at all of the uproar it's generating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166 ✭✭Lutecia

I should call with my best Frrrench accent, and claim the car back in the name of Liberty and Equality (not so much Fraternity, it's a 307 1.4 diesel after all) !

I see your point. Very well possible.
That would be more trolling than joking. It is possible, I mean no right thinking person would put up such an ad an expect to sell the car. Unless the guy isn't the full shilling, of course...
