    I'd like a change from salads occasionally so was thinking soup. Ordinarily I'd make my own but haven't time just at the moment, although I will when I get the chance as my own is far tastier than any shop-bought one!

    Anyway, question is do any of ye know of a decent enough version available in Tesco or Dunnes that isn't full of crap? I can get to a Supervalu but rarely ever shop there so it wouldn't be my first place to go.

    Ha! I was just going to recommend Supervalu. I got a lovely spicy butternut squash soup from there today and it had no ****e in it.

    The Cully and Sully ones aren't bad but they can be a bit expensive.

    (....and my standard answer. Stop being lazy and just make your own. Only takes 20mins.... bla bla bla)

    I had the super válu mushroom one today. Couldn't eat more than 5 spoons of it because it was so salty (and usually I would add salt to shop bought soups).

    The Just Food soups are pretty good too. You'll get them in SuperValu and Dunnes as well now, I think.

    The Cully & Sully mushroom soup is gorgeous. It is probably the highest fat one though. I usually hate any type of prepacked soup and I like this one so I tend to buy a few when they go on offer in Tesco

    Another vote for Cully and Sully. The ingredients list are quite clean, they use proper cream and they're not overly salted.

    What soup takes 20 mins?

    I frequently make my own and it's an hour between chopping veg, cooking, leaving it cool and blending.

    Chopping = 5 mins

    Cooking = 10/ 15 mins

    Blending = Do it while it's hot

    BAM. Soup.

    Yep, I get this all the time. Lovely soup. Only available in Veg, chicken & veg and Tomato & basil though. Aldi do pretty much the same too.

    I got soup in Aldi that was full of all the good stuff- in the refrigerated section. Sorry that doesn't answer your Tesco or Dunnes question tho:pac:

    I made an absolutely gorgeous soup just tonight! Curried butternut squash, lentil and coconut soup - only took me about 30 mins. Tastes soooo good and is very easy - will do me for the week! I got the recipe from good food website

    How did you manage that in 30 mins?

    I do a similar soup myself, but it takes about 20 minutes to warm up the oven to 200C, then the squash needs to go in for 45 minutes in alu foil (in 2 halves) before I can even start making soup with it :)

    There's no oven involved! You just put it in a saucepan with olive oil and then add stock and coconut milk - I posted the recipe above :-)

    I'm pretty sure that the Lidl, Aldi, Supervalue, Superquinn and Dunnes "Rip Off" Cully and Sully soups are in fact made by Cully and Sully. I believe they were sold to a US supplier who probably have access to alternative supply chains and methods of selling products.

    They certainly all do taste the same, have the same nutritional information and calorie content (Or at least close).

    By far probably the nicest and cleanest soups.
