    I'd run with anyone, pace is all relative. I've run with Ecoli, AMK and Yaboya who are all way quicker than me.

    First week of the plan this week and off to a bad start.
    MONDAY- rest day as planned

    TUESDAY- had to cry off sick. Stomach bug going through the house like wildfire.

    WEDNESDAY- 6 mile planned. 6.42 completed with a mile at mp effort. Splits as follows;
    1. 8:08
    2. 7:53
    3. 7:16 mp
    4. 8:04
    5. 8:02
    6. 8:00
    7. (0.42m) 3:15
    Average pace 7:53. The mp mile a bit too fast but had a bit of a breeze on the back so the effort was probably about right.

    First time using the new garmin. A lot easier to use than the other yoke I had...

    WEEK 1 THURSDAY

    Was scheduled to run 8m with 5x1k @mp with 3min recovery. However with the extra rest day and my reluctance to stand around twiddling my fingers for fifteen minutes I adjusted slightly.
    Went with 2 steady, 1mp, 1 steady, 1mp, 1steady, 1mp and 1 steady to finish with. Splits were;

    1. 8:08
    2. 7:54
    3. 7:20mp
    4. 8:01
    5. 7:39mp
    6. 8:10
    7. 7:44mp
    8. 8:12
    Run done on a nice flat loop.
    Had the wind at the back for the first 3-4 miles then gradually turned into it on the way back which probably explains the time differences as effort seemed consistent for each mp miles.
    8.1 miles total

    WEEK 1 FRIDAY
    Rest day scheduled for today but as I had an unplanned one earlier in the week and I just don't like them in general I settled on a compromise. Recovery run was the order of the day and decided to go as slow as I could. Just over the six miles covered splits were
    1. 9:33
    2. 9:16
    3. 9:03
    4. 10:36 (nature called)
    5. 9:23
    6. 9:47
    7. (0.46m) 5:00
    6.46 miles in total.
    Even the squirrels were laughing there nuts off......

    2.7:52
    3.8:17
    4.8:20
    5.7:54
    6.8:14
    7.4:10 (0.52m)

    Done on a three mile route x 2 with a few challenging hills.
    Average pace 8:09, spot on........

    Total miles 6.52

    WEEK 1 SUNDAY
    Lsr for today 16 miles, no issues. Splits;
    1 9:01
    2 8:20
    3 8:31
    4 8:22
    5 8:28
    6 8:30
    7 8:36
    8 8:31
    9 8:10
    10 8:14
    11 8:15
    12 8:02
    13 8:19
    14 8:24
    15 8:33

    Average pace 8:23 spot on, strong wind blowing this morning hence the variations. Very happy with this run, felt I was running well within myself which I suppose what these runs should be like.

    WEEK 2 MONDAY - rest

    WEEK 2 TUESDAY - decided to juggle the days around this week due to time constraints. Today called for 9 miles, 2x2 at mp pace. I broke it down as follows;

    2xsteady, 2xmp, 1 steady, 2xmp and 2 steady. I was looking forward to this one and it went well. Splits;
    1. 7.57
    2. 7.57
    3. 7:26 mp
    4. 7:31 mp
    5. 8:05
    6. 7:32mp
    7. 7:32mp
    8. 7:56
    9. 8:04
    Average mp miles 7:30/31. Mp's were done on feel and I got them almost perfect. Steady miles probably a tad too fast.....

    9.2 miles total.

    WEEEK 2 THURSDAY .
    Decided against doing a long run today. Two long runs and an mp session in five days was probably pushing it a bit and the small matter of a race this weekend probably reinforces the point. Just went with 9 miles slow/steady, splits;
    1. 8:22
    2. 8:12
    3. 8:20
    4. 8:18
    5. 8:07
    6. 8:25
    7. 8:09
    8. 8:20
    9. 8:00
    Average pace 8:15.
    Might have to take an unscheduled day off today, have to paint the chimney breast. Ah well should be nice and fresh for Sunday...

    Cheers Sam, it's not really an A race but I'll be giving it a good lash anyway.

    Good run today by the way, enjoy a nice drinky!!
