    Hi all,

I've lost 7 stone since April on the Slimming world diet. I did insanity during October and November, loved it but was fierce tough. I'm 13 stone now, waist 32.

I still have a good bit of flab around the belly area. Just wondering should I do another round of insanity or do p90x

I am happy with present weight but want to tone up and get some definition on the muscles, I did get alot on insanity but just wondering isp90x better

    Thanks for the advice

Well done on the weight loss that's impressive! Losing weight is all about the diet. Doing programs like P90x and insanity help too by creating a bigger demand on your body for energy. Unfortunatley these programs won't build up too much muscle as from what I'm aware it's all high rep workouts that are more like cardio than lifting.

If you want to get some muscles train with heavy weights a few times a week. There's a lot of programs out there. I'm sure someone can recommend one. Starting strength is generally what people recommend for beginners and it is a great program. I done it myself for my first few months of proper training. Great for progress.

If you're just looking to keep what you have and get some definition that's all about bodyfat levels. Keep going the way you're going. Keep that determination up and you'll be fine doing either or.

What is insanity and P90x please?

I second starting strength but if it doesnt appeal have a look at new rules of lifting for women the reps are very high and could be bought down but other than that its a solid all body workout. Not sure if you have access to a gym but some dumbells are required

I haven't done either of those but got great results with Focus T25 (another Shaun T one) It's only 25 minutes a day 5 days a week (except a double day on the 5th day).

I didn't have weight to lose but gained muscle and got nice and toned.

I injured my foot (not during exercise) and had to stop for a while but I plan to start the T25 program tomorrow, not the full program but just a few weeks of it to get my fitness levels back up then i'm hoping to start the P90x3 one which are only 30 minute workouts.

Well done on your weight loss, I've noticed on another forum that I use that a lot of people doing slimming world still eat a lot of processed food and a lot of people seem surprised that they can eat so much while still losing weight and don't really know how they manage to lose the weight on the diet, now I don't know anything about the diet myself so maybe that doesn't apply to you but is it possible your diet needs a bit of a shake up or are you eating a healthy clean diet?

Why do you even reply if you have nothing to bring to the conversation?

Thanks for all the replies, Slimming world actually advocates clean eating with very little processed food, one third of all meals have to be fruit or veg, it works very well and the recipes they provide are very tasty and .

Still unsure of where to next as regards toning up, very difficult to make a decision

try some Olympic weight lifting - develops speed and strength as well as proper joint mobility

find a club and learn a new skill and sport

Keep with Insanity, you'll get super fit and see a huge difference in your body. You wont really gain muscle but you'll lose a lot of fat and become leaner if you keep your diet clean. You can always do some weights on the side. I did insanity as part of my pre season for the soccer team I play with. It did so much for my fitness after only a month or so.

Have you looked at the beach body hybrid programmes?
You could do an Insanity/p90x mix if you liked.

Sounds good never thought of that, do you happen to have a plan of what way you merged the two

Huge fan of insanity but have started p90x3 and much prefer it. I've lost the book that comes with the pack and was wondering if it's really needed and if so where can I get a copy? Thanks
