One of the best fight cards of the year in my opinion, probably my personal favourite on paper.

    Main Event (BT Sports 1)

Middleweight: Chris Weidman (c) vs. Anderson Silva
Women's Bantamweight: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Miesha Tate
Heavyweight: Josh Barnett vs. Travis Browne
Lightweight: Jim Miller vs. Fabrício Camões
Featherweight: Dustin Poirier vs. Diego Brandao

    Preliminary card (Fox Sports 1)

Middleweight: Chris Leben vs. Uriah Hall
Lightweight: Gleison Tibau vs. Michael Johnson
Featherweight: Dennis Siver vs. Manvel Gamburyan
Welterweight: John Howard vs. Siyar Bahadurzada

    Preliminary card (Online)

Welterweight: William Macario vs. Bobby Voelker
Featherweight: Robbie Peralta vs. Estevan Payan

I think Weidman is going to reign as champ for a while. Said it before their previous outing that I thought he would get the win via KO/TKO in the 3rd (so close!) and I genuinely believe he'll do it again. Despite Silva acting the fool in the last fight and having a stronger more focused mindset I just can't see him not doing something stupid like dropping his hands or standing with his back to the cage taunting him.

Ronda Rousey will pull Tates arm out of its socket and put an end to that grudge.

Would like to see Browne take the win here and get some more momentum going in the HW division. Obviously he's nowhere near a standard to fight Cain but then again, who is :p

The loser of Leben/Hall surely has to get their P45 in the post??? Surprised both are still here to be honest.

I could probably comment on every fight as each one just looks so good! Last thing I'll mention is Brandao, he's so entertaining to watch and currently on a nice run. Definitely his biggest test by a long shot but I'd love to see him pull this off.

Took a silly multiple bet for the craic (and as I check it I notice I've taken Silva instead of Weidman... oops :o)

    Silva
    Rousey
    Siver
    Johnson
    Hall
    Brandao
    Miller

    €10 to win €270 :)

Didn't realise there were so many interesting fights on this card, looking forward to seeing Uriah Hall, Brandao, Barnett/ Browne, Tate/ rousey and Silva / Weidman.

Seriously rooting for Tate to win think Rousey is a disgrace as a professional athlete and in any other sport would be heavily criticized for her behaviour

I think you might end up being happy you made that mistake with your accumulator. I think Silva will prove he's the GOAT. Can't wait for this card. A mate of mine has gone over to Vegas for it. So jealous.

Not sure where u get this from the carry on outta Tate on the Ultimate fighter was equally as bad. Also i think if anything her behaviour has been talked about nearly as much as her armbars which is a shame really.

This card oozes with greatness on paper lets hope it delivers.

Rousey was far worse than Tate. The difference between the two was massive. Rousey's conduct was disgusting aswell as her attitude on the show.

    Silva Silva Silva!!!

I'm not sure whats going to happen TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if Weidman took him down and finished with gnp or a sub. He looked very dangerous when on top last time.......Nah...Anderson to KO him in the 1st!!!!!

So what are the lads plans for watching it? Since its on so late there won't be any pubs round my local area playing it so think it will be morning download and watch.

Can't wait for this fight, one of the best ppv ever. Last ufc on fox with hunt and big foot was epic though, few brutal fights that night.

Bit of a pity to hear gsp is out for a long spell again. Silva and tate to win tomorrow.

Silva to come out and destroy similar to the Rich Franklin fights. Otherwise I could see him moving up and taking over the light-heavyweight division. Couldn't choose between Browne and Barnett, though if on form barnett shows u I can see him stopping Browne. Rousey should win comfortably. Hall to stop Leban in devastating fashion.

Brandao missed weight by 8 lbs!!

Silva gets his ass handed to him by Jon Jones IMO

I honestly think Silva would be a devastating Light Heavyweight. Anytime he has fought at the weight (against mediocre competition granted) he has been devastating. I honestly think he would take Jones.

have to agree Jones would be way too strong.

I think Anderson looks bigger for this fight and he looks ready to take belt back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,357 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

He looks loose but focused. He won't make the same mistake twice. Very excited!

Hes gonna stop him easy 2nd round I think.
If he went to LW hed be rag dolled.Jon jones too big and strong. Stay at MW be think King again

If ya say so Id hold a big part of the blame on Meisha as she knew Ronda would react the way she did so persisted with childish pranks and slagging which led to the right pathetic viewing that followed.

Ronda could back up her conduct she broke Tates arm in their last fight the only way you could say she was wrong is if she actually loses.

Meisha got destroyed by Zingano shouldnt deserve a title shot so thats why Id find it hard to root for her regardless of her opponent, for me skills/how victory can is achieved is the reason Id follow a fighter as opposed to the fighters personality or lack of one. If I did Id be better off watching WWE.

    11.30pm according to UFC.com

Can't believe Diego missed by such a large margin, especially given the weight bracket he's in too.

My heart says Silva TKO, my head says I won't be betting on this match if my life depended on it :pac: Silva looks really confident but whether that translates into the same gameplan/cockyness and taunting as the first match remainds to be seen.

Can this fight still go ahead?? What's the cutoff point in a situation like this before a fight is called off??

It could but it would be up to Dustin to agree. Dustin would recieve a chunk of Brandao pay before the bell has even sounded, also I gather that were Brandao fight/win impressively he wont have a hope of grabbin a bonus.

Silva definitely looks like he knows something that we don't! So excited for this one, can't wait!

    25% of Brandaos purse apparently

She didn't break her arm the last time.
Regardless, her superior grappling ability doesn't give her the right to act like a child.

Fedor Emelianenko: "I would be surprised if Weidman makes it out of the first round. Anderson wins by KO."

He was 7lbs over at the first weigh-in.
He had another try again and hour or so later and had it down to 5.5lbs (151.5lbs)
Obviously missing weight is an issue, but at least he went to the effort of trying to make the limit. Realistically he was never going to reach it and was just wasting energy.

A friend of mine summed up the co main event perfectly.

"It's more than just Rousey v Tate. It's bigger than them. It's blonde v brunette. And even though a lot rather brunette, blonde is just far superior"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,100 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

I see Silva being more focused but still think weidman will connect with a big punch. Should be a great fight regardless of the winner.

Such a great card on paper, gonna do my best to stay up tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,357 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

How awesome is is that we have a title fight that is really a toss up? Some people half saying Silva, half saying Weidman. Really looking forward to this!

What channel are you going to watch it on sheehy83? I wouldn't mind staying up for it but I have no sky or upc. Just the internet and no local pubs open that late. Will probably have to download it tomorrow and stay off the internet and my phone until I've watched it.

Live streaming online? Or will I get into trouble for promoting illegal streaming websites?

I have it on ESPN but am raging because since the moved over onto the Setanta package it's no longer available on Sky Go.

I dunno about you but if I was there I'd want to be in the first row for this sport :p

think i read somewhere that Setanta is only a pound for the month,i stand to be corrected.

Announcement coming shortly. I wonder is it just to do with the digital network. Plenty of rumours floating around about Brock Lesnar but I doubt it. GSP returning to fight for the WW title? Haha.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭Gilbert Grape

On UG states that Fedor is in Vegas aswell, and that Brocks 1st fight is the 2 of them, would be awesome if true but very unlikely not lol, would still love to see Fedor fight in the UFC.

Gotta laugh at the rumours of Brock coming back, are people forgetting the reason why he left in the first place? He didn't like getting hit in the face

I was never a fan of his. He was a one trick pony. Gotta love that moment Carwin landed on his chin and you realised he really doesn't like taking a punch to the face. Although I can't say I'd enjoy Carwin punching me in the face either.

I heard this channel is only going to cost $10 per month. For all that access it sounds great if they will allow you to watch PPV events the day after on-demand.

    A tweet by the UFC

"@ufc: Get your FREE 2 month trial of #UFCFightPass now! Sign up here: http://t.co/d0ovY2eKMP. Starting March 1st, service is only $9.99/mo"

I'd imagine there will be UFC on fox live on it and replays the next day. Can't beat free I suppose.
