That really is a huge amount of fairly up to date tech from a reputable manufacturer for very little

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭thecornflake

Very good deal, tab 2 on the same sight is more expensive but there doesn't seem to be much in the difference in terms of specs IIRC.

I just spotted the 2012 nexus for 99 pound too, unsure if I should wait until after christmas. Damn bargain alerts !

That's for the free delivery only AFAIK, but you might still have problems with the billing address.

Any reviews? Was really tempted by the Samsung, but agree reviews not that good (however maybe latest price reflects that?)

Check out the techradar reviews posted earlier.....but I do wonder if these reviews reflected a higher price? Based on a new lower price, perhaps this represents good value.....

Yeah, I got a Nexus 7 (2012) 32GB for 110STG from Dabs delivered last Friday, Ended up being approx 134 euro delivered with Parcel Motel. Looked long and hard at the Samsung Tab 7" among others but the Nexus I thought was better value.

Had to cancel mine today as they wouldn't accept an Irish card with pm delivery address, spoke to customer service but they were having none of it. I'll spend my money elsewhere so!

Really? I know Currys and Pcworld can not accept Irish card. But its first time I hear that carphonewarehouse can not either.

hmm, I guess the only few options left are Tesco, DABS, ebay and Amazon, right?

Think I'll pick up one of these. It has a far better spec than the Samsung.

You don't get the brand name but Asus developed the Nexus 7 and at this price and spec it's a no brainer.

Just see they're out of stock that's a pity.

how did you fill the billing address? I couldn't change the "country" field
have tried with CC and DC and none could be processed

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 19,738 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

I left the country field as UK and just filled in my normal address to county level, didn't put Ireland in anywhere...

Took a good look at the Samsung in local carphone warehouse, and was very impressed with the screen quality etc., so ordered one with the order tips here. Will have it delivered via parcel motel to local Topaz garage for eur100 all included. Local carphone warehouse in Dublin had it reduced from eur180 to eur160 this morning. Argos had it for eur150.
We'll see if they dispatch... Had a problem with contact mobile...would only accept valid uk mobile number, so used a relatives.....fingers crossed!

I ordered one earlier as an alternative still hoping the asus comes back in stock.

I'll be interested to see how the order goes Irish card albeit UB.

We've offices I work from in London so could probably have it sent there but tried parcel Motel.

I'll update when I hear back.

Order cancelled. Must use a UK based credit card, as their system has the post code as a mandatory check for payment. As a positive for someone with a UK credit card, they have approx. 600 units available to ship. Unfortunately the 50% mark up by Irish Retailers is too steep for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,208 ✭✭✭Rashers72

Same price in store in any GB/Northern Ireland branch. Stock levels mixed, as stores did not know about the price reduction in advance. If interested, ring a branch and check. None in Newry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,055 ✭✭✭Mr.Fred

Just got an email off them looking to confirm card details etc.

So it may be a non runner. I'll pick one up over there next week if it's a no go.

Still have an eye on the Asus in Tesco.

Not only did my aib visa go through ok... they charged me twice!! Aib contacted me to ask if it was legit... as well as the 4 Asus.

Got on to car phone warehouse And they cancelled the order and refunded me twice... should see it in a few days. No need for Samsung now with the Asus.

Was happy to buy them and send em on to boardsies but no one asked :(
Even offered to buy a few more...

Have blue on its way and two pinks. My sis is unsure of it. She'll let me know for sure tomorrow. Other two are for my wife and other sis....
