    taken from hkud

Saw this as a bespoke offer that gives you a code to use on the TomTom website for a 60% saving (RRP £79.99, code brings it down to £32ish, then there's P&P on top). Quick search found this for significantly cheaper on Amazon with free P&P.

    Product Description
Make calls on the move and enjoy clear conversation at both ends of the line. An in-built 2 watt speaker gives you quality audio so it's easy to hear both hands-free calls and directions. Your smartphone is securely mounted and fast-charged as you drive. And for short journeys when you don't want navigation or charging, you don't have to dock your phone: Bluetooth® allows you to make and answer calls even when your phone is in your pocket. Safe, convenient and hands-free.

Mine arrived today - expected delivery date wasn't until Friday so quite surprised to see it in the post this morning.

Nice piece of kit and seems to be very sturdy - haven't had a chance to give her a trial run yet though so can't comment on how it works or sounds like on a phone call when in the car though.

Mine came, it's grand. Won't fit my SIII properly though. Will hopefully fit Nexus grand when it arrives.

    Thanks.

Just ebay, should have gone with amazon at the time but slipped my mind.
    http://www.ebay.com/bhp/lightning-to-micro-usb-adapter

My exact one is this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/151059820682?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Only reason i went for it is it is black to match the rest of the kit!
On a happy bonus, I was testing it there and music/podcasts play automatically through the tomtom kit once synched :)
Now i can play my music!

You would need something like this one for the iphone 4 or iphone4s while you would need one like this one for the iphone5

Got mine from parcel motel today. Too small for my nexus4. Any of ye guys interested at face value? It is opened but not used.

Or any ideas if it can be adjusted to fit nexus4. Lengthways phone too big, sideways phone too small..

    It wouldn't fit in sideways.

I didn't spot you can put it in lengthways by changing one of the holder handles.

You can rotate it - fits my nexus 4 perfectly.

You need to take the arm out, then twist the base around and the arm goes in the other hole.
It's not obvious at all that you can do it. Took me a few minutes to notice it too.

For those using this kit with the S3 phone, do you have any cases on your phone or do you have to remove the phone from the case before using?

    Thanks

If anybody still wants one of these I have a spare un-opened unit available at cost (€25).

For those wondering about what size phone will fit I have my Galaxy Note 1 installed. Needed to cut away some of the rubber pads with a sharp blade but its comfortably fitting (sans case) in landscape mode.

Anyone having trouble with this? I'm finding that I lose speaker connection during the call, and I have to change from Bluetooth to phone speaker and back to get it working again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭rabwaygal

I only lost Bluetooth connection once, the battery ran low and as part of the energy efficiency settings Bluetooth became disconnected.

Are there other devices blocking/interferring with the Bluetooth?

On a separate issue I`m finding the charging aspect only works intermittently (i.e charges for 20 secs, runs off battery for 20 secs, rinse and repeat). Its only annoying because my screen lights up everytime charging is started. I`m not sure there is a loose connection between my phone (Galaxy S4) and the device.

Yep Im having the same problem but it I tried another phone and it charged correctly so it may be a compatibility issue with my phone a Sony Xperia S.

Thanks, I have an obd Bluetooth device plugged into the car, I'll remove it and see if it improves. Pretty sure issue was there before I got the odb.

    I've no issues charging.

I have the same setup. Same thing happened me a few times and I had a look at the settings on the phone. Doubtful that it made any difference but I changed the visibility to never time out. Hasn't happened since but haven't been on a substantial length call.

My main problem is that it doesnt reconnect when I get back into the car unless I plug it out and back it.

Im having a problem also. I bought 2 for our cars. My phone will pair with my bluetooth but won't pair with the bluetooth in my wifes car and vice versa. Anyone any advice for a novice before I send them back to amazon as times nearly up on the warranty.
