He's grand, it's a heads up to those of us off to bed to check in tomorrow as he's obviously confident enough. Just hope it's a good one though!

You not pick your own selections no?

    2.30 Southwell

    Miako 3/1

Trainer Mick Appleby has his horses in blistering form with 9 winners from his last 19 runners and I think his relatively lightly raced 3 year old Miako could take a lot of stopping here today. A very ready 5L scorer off a mark of 62 over C+D in a 0-75 handicap back in February, Miako finds himself just 2lb higher than that mark today off 64 as he drops back in a Class 6 for the first time since his handicap debut. He then followed that victory up with a good 3rd off a mark of 72 over this C+D back in March and despite not being at his best in 4 subsequent starts the handicapper has relented quite quickly and he now looks on a mark that he should be more than capable of scoring off. Having returned from a 5 month absence at Wolverhampton last month which should have put him spot on for this, if returning to anything near the form of his rout earlier in the year then Miako could take stacks of beating from a good draw in stall 9 for a yard that are absolutely flying.

It's completely irrelevant whether I do or not. I like to take on board the thoughts of posters here.

Grandest, Miako and Bury Parade treble for me tmrw. Grandest runs in the opener at Southwell and the latter @ 1.50 in Exeter.

Gosden has a terrific strike rate at Southwell and Nicholls horse came out on top last day, with horses behind showing form which has provided profit.

SRFC, take a hike, your looking for an argument as of late.

Fergal O'Brien sends his newcomer Jennies Surprise to towcester for it's track debut in the lucky last. The p2p she won is working out well, with the 3rd, 4th and 8th going in since. He has a 23% strike rate in NHF this season so I'm going to have a small stake on her today. Always a danger backing the ladies but this daughter of hawk wing is racing against fellow ladies which makes the task a little easier. Hendersons yoke
has decent form but another stable mate of Jennies surprise accounted for her lto. The champ rides one for Rebecca Curtis, which likely rates a bigger danger after the jockey/trainer combo bagged a bumper at ffos las a few days ago.

Don't worry. He'll give you a winner soon. It'll be a cat or a dog that'll have the ability to out jump and out run a horse over 2 miles.

It'll be a machine of an animal. Like a mix between lassie, K-9 and Garfield.

But he won't tell you if he has backed it before it runs but will allude to being quids in afterwards in a fairly vague fashion.

He also knows who the Irish champion trainer is ...... well I think he does. It's unclear at times whether it's a huge crush or a horsey racing thingy.

    Aye Aye Skipper - 7:30 Kempton (33/1 - B365, Bill Hill)

I have to say I am really surprised to see Aye Aye Skipper trading at such a huge price. The horse rides tomorrow off a mark of 75 and on the two occasions it has dropped below that mark (once at 73, once at 74) it won both times. The race it runs in tomorrow is of a similar quality to when it won on those occasions, so considering its record in class 5 races, the odds look far too big. Dean Ivory, the trainer has a great record with three year olds and has been able to fool the handicapper more than once with a big priced winner, so that's a positive. Finally, its last run was highly instructive, on that occasion, the horse was ridden prominently, but never put into the race in the last 2 furlongs against better opposition than it faces here. It would never have won, but it finishing nowhere has enabled it to drop down a class. You'd hope that Dean Ivory isn't sending this horse to Lingfield as his only runner tomorrow for the fun of it.

Only real negative I can see is the jockey on it. Having said that, he has come in with some big priced winners, so perhaps his 7lb claim may be useful tomorrow.

Goodlukin Lucy - 1:30 Southwell (9/1 - widespread) Horse has been bumped up in distance this time out, which is a plus. Really hoping Tom Eaves has learned from its last run and doesn't try to dictate the pace of the race. Horse beat current market favourite This Is Me quite handily that time, so it should be competitive against this lot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,927 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

    One more for good measure.

Shamiana - 1:00 Southwell (33/1 - widespread) Winterwell without a doubt looks the class horse in this race, but Shamiana looks chucked into this maiden like it might just have a chance. Think it might be telling the Shamiana rides on fibresand for the first time today, the turf like surface may just suit it.

No he's not boring. He's just a timewaster who's latest 'big, hush, hush, inside knowledge, yadiyadi yadi.. ' tip is a 33-1 running in Kempton. This horse will not win, nor wil 90% of the 'tips' that will be posted on this forum today, tomorrow, or any other day.

If you feel that way, then why bother posting here?

For the record, I have never, ever claimed that I have any secret inside knowledge. All my picks are made by watching races and doing my own research. Occasionally, I will follow other people in on a tip, but I will of course do my own research first. I never claimed to be some kind of big-balled, high roller with "connections". I watch races with my eyes and form my own opinions. As for my reason for withholding my horses? You can't place a bet when the bookies don't even have prices available yet :pac:

This is the type of post that I have respect & time for.
It is factual and to the point. None of this horseshyte that some of the posters with 3 & 4 'tips' every day get up to.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 196 ✭✭Clonsuttonlad

In fairness I've seen Francie put up a 150-1 treble up here.

3 out of four of his selections went in.
His Goodluckin Lucy Tip is good.

The 33-1 tip only has to be successful once in 30 times to be successful.

This forum has had a poor strike rate this week but has been good earlier in the month.

Well I'll save you some time.

Usually page 22 or 38 in the racing post. It's called 'signposts'.

It's not difficult and that's no disrespect to BQQ. Just trying to help your good self out.

Placed in 3rd. Horse traveled really well but but found nothing in the last two furlongs which suggests it needs to be upped in trip.

Ah well, two fingers up to the naysayers, my horse placed and I am in very slight profit for the day and still have two runners to go :D
