Where do you Board from?

I spend ages skimming around Boards, usually posting guff. I'm generally supposed to be doing paperwork at the time, but that's waay dull. I'm always sat in the same place -in my office off the sitting room, I've an old 1920s Barbers chair that's all chrome, black leather and hydraulics that I use as an office chair and is my favorite piece of furniture of all time. There's a wood burning stove crackling away across the room and spitting out sparks every now and then and the rest of the Fackers are usually in the next room with the door open and the TV blaring or playing x-box so that it sounds like a suburb of Beirut.

The rooms old, about 300 years give or take and it's very minimalist - the two windows are arrow-slots, about four inches wide and about three foot tall set into stone walls about 3 foot thick. Better designed for fighting off attackers than allowing wi-fi to get through. That's my lair, and apart from this ancient dell pc and a desk, there's piles of catalogues, tax returns, paperwork and work stuff.

Where are you when you're posting on Boards, do you have a spot, are you on the move and on your phone, do you have a routine or is it an ad-hoc sort of an affair? I'm always curious where people are posting from. Is there a spectacular view, are you in a jacuzzi with Russell Brand or are you on the roof of Mountjoy using a Samsung Galaxy you hid up your butt?

- You must be a phone-Boarder so. I've tried, but the little screen wrecks me head and I usually break the thing pretty quick by sitting on it or dropping it off somthing high, or getting it covered in sealer or cement so i'm back to dumb phones only. And I hate laptops..

Fair fecks to you. I got my chair out of a skip from a building being demolished (for free) and did it up myself. The office is small and oollld - I've lived here for almost 30 years and bought it as a rat-infested derelict shell with no roof that no-one wanted for about 50p and spent twenty years rebuilding it on a mouse budget tiny bit by tiny bit whenever I got the time. Mostly done by myself. I doubt too many would swap the years of slog tbh. The complaining and exclamation marks are a matter of perspective. The keyboard is pretty knackered - the letters are worn off on n,s a c and m.

Broader location may be more interesting though, I'm up on a hill, in an old renovated house, with the wind howling and breathtaking views of the sky at night, and mountains and valleys in the daytime.

yeah, the broader view here is mostly bog and woods. It's not too traditionally picturesque. On the upside, there's a power station about ten miles away in the distance like somthing out of the satanic mills..and not a thing in between.

A phone Boardsie my Mac is in for repair and my Laptop shat itself last week so I use my phone for Boards mostly when the other half is too busy bawling her eyes out to Greys Anatomy.

That programme does my nut in.

Usually sittin' on the floor cross-legged, 'cos my laptop has a broken hinge, so it has to be lean'd up to a wall/chair/coal scuttle, take yer pick....

Don't have a phone that does internet, so usually post when I get home frm work.

Work long hours, so don't post a lot but when I do, I'm usually tired or in an 'advanced state of refreshment'.:)

Usually from me couch. That or the work (heh) bench in the garage beside. Im a "phone boarder" but have managed to drastically improve my phone survivability via thick protective covers and a water resistant phone.

From the left part of my Kayo console sofa recliner, possibly the most comfortable sofa i've ever sat in. Went to Harvey Normans to get a cable and came out with a receipt for the couch! Anyway, about 5/6 feet from my 40" Bravia with my PC hooked up to it, wireless kb/m. View is my sitting room, as the blind is nearly always down - hate not being able to see the screen - surrounded by figurines and weapons from games i've bought.

Normally on my laptop in my living room. If I'm feeling 'bunged up' after a weekend of excess, then I'll do so on the phone while sitting on the throne. Nothing like reading the usual suspects complain about 'da Gubberment' to loosen things up.
