    Hi readers,

I am an asthmatic and have taken antibiotics for persistent chest infections for as long as I can remember. After discovering the major health benefits of active manuka honey (my favourite MGO 250) which I have taken for over a year now it cured anything from a cold to a chest infection which for me was a Godsend. I am 15 weeks pregnant now and feel another chest infection coming on and I would love to know if there is anyone that has taken manuka honey during pregnancy. Your responses are greatly appreciated :)

For a pregnancy perspective, there's a dedicated forum here:

If you are looking for healthcare advise, you won't be able to get it on boards though. You'd need to see a doctor.

manuka honey has no real benefits over normal honey

the makers of it basically have trumped its 'benefits' and so shift huge quantities of the stuff, especially via health food store network

Not sure if this is spam or you are daft, but manuka honey is the same as any other honey and is no where near as effective as you have led yourself to believe.

Respect to the producers of it for having convinced gullible people otherwise!
