Just looking for general feedback here but have you ever heard somebody say this, usually where some type of rivalry is involved.

Curious to know others opinions on this because I don't think that anyone else can make you look like or feel like anything your not. Said this to a friend a they got a little bit annoyed as if I was making them out to be a drama queen.

Yes I have heard this before. Maybe she meant that some person was twisting her words to make her look bad?

People could unfairly make out to other people that you are an unpleasant person by simply lying or making up stories about you, retelling something you said in an entirely different tone of voice, purposely omitting some of the things you said, just generally twisting things to make others dislike you.
So I think that people can make you look like something you're not.

I think it's fair enough to respond by saying that you feel the person is trying to damage your reputation by making you out to be something you're not.

Usually people eventually see through the nasty people who do some of those things I mentioned so your friend should just clear her side of things, and not worry to much about anybody who wastes their time believing whatever girl it is that is bothering her.
