Looking for a new pre workout.

Ones that worked for me have been:

    Jack3d
    Craze

Would really love to a recommendation from someone who has moved on from them and have been satisfied with the effect.

Since Craze has been lifted I have tried:

    Pow3red
    12 gauge
    Grenade 50 calibre

None of which I would buy again as the effect on me was minimal.

    Any advice would be great.

And guys I'm looking for a pre workout. That's the only advice I need, cheers.

Ps!ch0515 - Excellent pump, small bit of dropfoot but it passes.

AlliGAINT0R-B - Definitely adds 1 or 2 reps to each set, spent a fair amount of time after training obsessively straightening all the towels on the racks in my house.

Spanish Curveball - Made me a bit light headed, I also set off the alarms in shop entrances pretty much ever since. Doctor says my blood is mostly nickel now.

Incandestipump - Set 2 new 1RMs on the bench and squat after taking this, also discovered my tears could melt most plastics.

P45-MotRnewRON - Good product, be careful not to eat tomatoes for at least 10 days after taking, it can result in spontaneous ectopic pregnancy in otherwise healthy males.

You got it in post 2. Just lay off the coffee during your day to day and have a drink before your workout.

I find PWOs far easier to chug than coffee at 6.30 in the morning; not sure why being anti-PWO is suddenly in vogue.

Coffee is a preworkout drink! I think we tend to be anti needlessly expensive supplements.

    AM workouts

Black coffee + tablespoon of coconut oil + AC/DC = rocket fuel

Have been trying out the coffee/coconut oil before my morning sesssions (training myself and clients). It is indeed quite the rocket fuel.

That said, I've never used any of the pre-workouts like jack3d etc etc so can't really compare.

Usually train at 6:30am. So handy make it up and drink on the way to the gym.

Magic is in the upgraded AC/DC :)

I often wondered if taking pre workouts up the an-ous would be more effective.

    Anyone wanna try it?

    ...and by preworkout, I mean...

    Pre workout BEETROOT POWER

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24089377
"Dietary supplementation with NO3--rich BR (beetroot) juice speeds vo2 kinetics and enhances exercise tolerance during severe-intensity exercise when initiated from an elevated metabolic rate."

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24085341
"When compared with nitrate-depleted beetroot juice, a high (8.4 mmol NO3-) but not moderate (4.2 mmol NO3-) dose of NO3- in beetroot juice, consumed 2 h before exercise, may improve 2,000m rowing performance in highly trained athletes."

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23846159
A single dose of BR lowered VO2 during submaximal exercise and enhanced TT performance of trained cyclists in normobaric hypoxia. Consequently, ingestion of BR may be a practical and effective ergogenic aid for endurance exercise at altitude.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23640589
"Dietary supplementation with beetroot juice (BR), containing approximately 5-8 mmol inorganic nitrate (NO3(-)), increases plasma nitrite concentration ([NO2(-)]), reduces blood pressure, and may positively influence the physiological responses to exercise."

"The results of a study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology showed that drinking beetroot juice prior to working out boosted stamina in male subjects and enabled them to exercise longer.

The men enrolled in the study were given 500 milliliters (slightly less than 17 ounces) of organic beetroot juice for six consecutive days before completing a series of cycling tests. For comparison, the men were given a placebo drink of blackcurrant juice for six consecutive days prior to engaging in the same series of cycling tests on a separate occasion.

Scientists from the University of Exeter and Peninsula Medical School found that when the men performed the cycling tests after consuming the beetroot juice, they were able to exercise up to 16 percent longer than after they had consumed the blackcurrant beverage.

The researchers demonstrated that drinking beetroot juice reduces oxygen uptake in exercising individuals to an extent that cannot be achieved by any other known means, including physical training. When the body's oxygen demands are reduced, exercise is less tiring for the individual.

While the exact mechanism by which beetroot juice boosts stamina isn't fully understood, it is believed to be linked to nitrate, a chemical compound found in high concentrations in beetroots. In the body, nitrate is converted to nitric oxide, a compound that appears to significantly reduce the oxygen cost of exercising." Below is the study referenced in this segment

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=2009+%22Journal+of+Applied+Physiology+beetroot

And even if all that is bull then you are still consuming a vegetable

"Beetroot is of exceptional nutritional value; especially the greens, which are rich in calcium, iron and vitamins A and C. Beetroots are an excellent source of folic acid and a very good source of fibre, manganese and potassium. The greens should not be overlooked; they can be cooked up and enjoyed in the same way as spinach.

Beetroots have long been used for medicinal purposes, primarily for disorders of the liver as they help to stimulate the liver's detoxification processes. The plant pigment that gives beetroot its rich, purple-crimson colour is betacyanin; a powerful agent, thought to suppress the development of some types of cancer.
Beetroot is rich in fibre, exerting favourable effects on bowel function, which may assist in preventing constipation and help to lower cholesterol levels too.

Beetroot fibre has been shown to increase the level of antioxidant enzymes in the body, (specifically one called glutathione peroxidase), as well as increase the number of white blood cells, which are responsible for detecting and eliminating abnormal cells. Beets are also one of the richest sources of glutamine, an amino acid, essential to the health and maintenance of the intestinal tract.
Other studies have looked at the effect of beetroot juice on blood pressure. A reduction in blood pressure is beneficial for the avoidance of heart disease and stroke. Studies state that nitrate rich foods like beetroot may help in heart attack"

So I except to see you all chomping on beetroots in the gym from now on :pac:

    lol

No-Explode was my first and only time to try a per-trainer. About 8 o'clock on a monday night years ago one of the lads in the club suggested to try some before a long sparring session didn't sleep a wink all night after. Swore never again.

Pre-workouts on a serious note (GROAN) have a bad rep and rightly so.

    Three things:

1: What is in the tub is not actually listed on the label - very common now.

2: The PWO is nothing but mega doses of caffeine and beta alanine so it is a stim & tingle product.

3: The hype is too much so like a movie the expectation is raised and then it fails to deliver etc.

If you amp up the servings in some cases you would be getting near a gram of caffeine!

A lad I used to know used to mix his Pre workout supplements, so he might have 1 serving of 4 different products in his shaker cup. Crazy amounts of caffeine.

A few years back I was drinking with one of lads I train with, i had some samples of pre workout lying around , we took a notion and threw a sachet into our bottles of buckfast, there was no sleeping done that night.

On a serious note, I actually won a tub of pre workout a year or two back at a gym raffel thing, took it for a few weeks but meh I didnt notice much of a diffrence if any. if your serious about your training and your food / recovery are good theres zero need for it. The OP should spend the money on protien instead If they feel the need to buy some supplements.

Argi + is becoming one of the best sports drink around, top triathlons are starting to use it and reap the benefits.

What are the Health Benefits of Argi + ?

    Acts to release anti-ageing hormones.
Useful in maintaining blood glucose control
Helps reduce blood cholesterol levels from an extract of red wine
Has a rich source of antioxidants needed to fight the damaging effects of free radicals
Increases muscle mass and strength, whilst reducing the amount of fatty tissue
Greater blood flow and may improve sexual function from Nitric oxide that's formed
Aids bone and tissue growth and repair
Helps maintain a healthy blood flow and cardiovascular system
    Supports the immune system
A daily supplement that helps support better health throughout many systems of the body, delivering optimal performance
Now you know the benefits of Argi + lets find out what it is and whats in one of the best sports drink around.

Argi + is a daily supplement drink containing L-Arginine and a vitamin complex.
L-Arginine is an amino acid that’s so potent, scientists refer to it as the ‘Miracle Molecule.’
This is because our bodies convert L-Arginine into nitric oxide, a molecule that helps blood vessels relax and
open wide for greater blood flow. A greater blood flow supports many important functions in our body, such as maintaining healthy blood pressure and overall cardiovascular health.

Argi+ will provide your body with all the benefits of L-Arginine but also strong antioxidant properties from pomegranate, help maintain healthy cholesterol levels from a red wine extract and grape skin for cardiovascular and immune system health. It also contains fruit juices which provide nutrients, essential fatty acids, berries that help neutralise free radicals and support healthy ageing and other ingredients which support healthy joint function.

All this from one sports drink and the best part is all you need is one scoop mixed with 8 ounces of water and that will provide you with 5 grams of L-Arginine per serving, plus synergistic vitamins which give the body the boost it needs to keep going all day long and deliver optimal performance to nearly every system in your body.
