Main Event (PPV - BT Sports)

Flyweight: Demetrious Johnson (c) vs. Joseph Benavidez
Bantamweight: Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald
Featherweight: Chad Mendes vs. Nik Lentz
Lightweight: Joe Lauzon vs. Mac Danzig

    Preliminary card (Fox Sports 1)

Welterweight: Court McGee vs. Ryan LaFlare
Lightweight: Danny Castillo vs. Edson Barboza
Lightweight: Bobby Green vs. Pat Healy
Flyweight: Scott Jorgensen vs. Zach Makovsky
Lightweight: Sam Stout vs. Cody McKenzie
Lightweight: Abel Trujillo vs. Roger Bowling

    Preliminary: card (Online)

Flyweight: Darren Uyenoyama vs. Alptekin Ozkilic

Would love to see Joe Lauzon come out the winner and start making his way back towards top 10. He's an entertaining fighter to say the least.

I except (hope) Faber to get the job done and see him get another shot. Can't see how he doesn't get a shot with a win here.

Overall, a lot of really good match ups. Excited for this card. Predicting Barboza by leg kicks :)

If I remember reading right, there will be a total of 33 events by the time the year is out. Dana wants to do 55 next year :|

    That's more than 1 a week ffs!

Dont think Urijah Faber's heart is in the game as much anymore. He has lots of other projects outside UFC nowadays. I think Michael will have his number and his hunger to win more will prevail. Not to mention his talent as a young rising star.

if brown could have made another big step forward

great offer even though im not with them anymore myself

was enough giving them around 60pm and then to lose
    the ufc to another crowd
I said i'd lose sky instead (well, kinda;)

quiet thread for what looks like a good card

trujillo bowling should be a war after the rematch where
    it was a no contest
really looking forward to that one and no doubt another
    stand and bang type fight

really rooting for court mc gee also as i think la flare is
    very one dimensional
think mc gee will be a bad match up for him

joe lauzon the legend will surely take care of danzig
    hope he does anyway

He handed some SERIOUS strikes, taught it would have been stopped sooner!

Unusual to see a fighter with no sponsors names on their shorts.

    Cody is a sorry sight.

I can't believe he's still in the ufc
credit to him for lasting this long

the fight between him and mendes was without doubt
the biggest gulf in class between two fighters ive seen
    before and after any fight

Very good round from bobby green there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,748 ✭✭✭ASOT

Nice little treble on Green, Zach & Trujillo that last round had me worried after green seemed gas! His movement was anderson silva esque at times!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,628 ✭✭✭themandan6611

    some survival, he'll win now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,748 ✭✭✭ASOT

    Barboza with an amazing recovery.

he'd give facekicker a good fight

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,503 ✭✭✭adamski8

Thought green was a bit lucky really, he did a lpt of avoiding strikes but wasnt very aggressive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,503 ✭✭✭adamski8

Edson just got that win as i thought as did one judge that the first was a 10-8. No way the second was a 10-8 as rogan was elluding to though.

Cody looked in terrible shape, dont know how he is in the ufc at all.

Was just reading about herb dean removing codys price tags from his shorts mid fight. Wtf? Arent refs meant to check them prefight

Dunno how edson survived that, some leg kicks outta him ive a feeling his chin will stop him going to the top just cant take a bomb at all,his Kicks are unreal though great to watch.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,071 ✭✭✭user2011

A bit tough to call the second a 10-8 but I can understand it, although Edson didn't rock him he battered his leg when this was happening in his other fights I was tapping for the guys after a few kicks landed they are something special.

Great spirit from both guys to push through to the end, enjoyable fight to watch.

    lauzon danzig next

surely this will mean danzig gets the boot should he lose

3-7 in his last ten in the ufc now

    somebody must like him
I don't think he has a hope of beating lauzon myself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,748 ✭✭✭ASOT

    I love mendes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,961 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

    lentz has some chin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,286 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

    Closer fight than I expected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,961 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

Fantastic to see the flyweight title being won by a knock-out.

Man that was easily the biased Joe Rogan we've ever seen during the Mendes fight.

Mendes absolutely dominated Lintz - Almost finished him in round 1, 8 takedowns, and dropped him with a flying knee in round 3.

Rogan really bugged me in that fight.

Mendes wasnt the typical mendes wev seen before, he had a problem breathing apparently thats why he wasnt as aggressive after the first few minutes!

I agreed with more or less everything rogan was saying, he wasnt doing his typical ground and pound assault when he took lentz down.
