    I absolutely love this style of painting but I've no idea what it is called/what year it was most popular/etc etc
    Any information would be greatly appreciated :)

    This genre is commercial art or illustration from the 1930's /40's, the era is the 'America Golden Age of Illustration', a peak period for commercial illustration before photography became more popular as a medium in advertising.

    The particular image you posted reminds me of the work from artists, Norman Rockwell or Andrew Loomis. Tons of stuff on the net on these two artists .
