Where do I start?

    Hi

I only recently graduated from law school with a 2.1 Bacehlor of Civil. I've decided not to follow a career in law and have decided to pursue one in Finance.

I've browsed through a number of careers that I might be interested in and accountancy is one out of three, the other two are actuarial work and investment analyst roles.

Where will I begin with a law degree and how much will I earn to start off with?

I take it I will have to move to UK, Canada or Australia to get started.

    Thanks

I don't really have much experience in this, but if your thinking of moving, I'd imagine you should prob look into gaining a training contract in these countries rather than ireland if the plan is to move abroad in the near future!

Regarding accounting in ireland, I believe there is a stickie on this forum re accounting bodies, so have a look through that and see which area interests you more.

There is too many areas to practise in accounting: practice and industry

The main bodies for practise are ACA and ACCA

For industy I think CIMA is the main one

    I can advise regarding finance/investment.

Hope this helps in some way

I've considered investment banking but again, I have no idea where to start.
