Ive just had my first look at Plenty Of Fish to see what all the fuss was about and I noticed some of the same things popping up frequently;

Skydiving/Bunjee jumping pics

"Willing to lie about how we met"

"loves going out and staying in"

"No time wasters please"





And then there's those speaking in code;

"seeks solvent male" = wants someone to pay for everything

"looks/age/status unimportant" = just wants the ride

“I’m shy at first but really open up when you get to know me” = potentially a serial killer who'll show up and greet you like this

I used to love the oul dating web sites. POF is crap though.

I can honestly say I've never ever lied on it but every person (bar one) I went out with did. If you know what you are doing and more inportantly saying, they can be pretty handy for the ride.

Most people will use the best photo they can so never take the photo as you see it. Chances are they looked like that for about 5 seconds.

EDIT: really don't mean to sound horrible but woman with a handful of kids saying 'must love kids' and stuff is a sign of desperation.

Not everyone worth meeting can be found in a nightclub.

Also, I live in Germany and dating sites are pretty common here. It's not an exclusively Irish thing. Germans are also pretty straightforward on nights out so there's no apparent "need" for them.

A dating site just means you have a better chance of narrowing things down and finding someone with similar interests. You may meet/ride someone whilst in an alcoholic haze but then find out the next morning you wouldn't touch them with a bargepole sober.

Irish women have a hell of a lot to learn when it comes to talking to men. The amount of times I've seen (or experienced) men here getting laughed or having the p1ss taken out of them when they approach a woman here is madness. The nwhen he walks away you see the regret in her eyes for having belittled him in public.

Oh, yeah, it's alright for women to make the first move as well.

Open-minded = Kinky

Broadminded = Very kinky

Willing to try almost anything = Desperate

Loyal to the right guy = will do anything to hang on to a man

Would make compromises for the right guy = Will do anything, and pretend it's normal.

Loves night's out with the girlies = Screeching harpy

Would make the right girl my princess = I'll get a face tattoo of your name after two dates

Genuinely nice guy = Wears fedora, lives with mum.
