Hello, when doing dumbell curls (heavy ones for me) I get sore pains up the side of my forearm. When I do the curl it's not sore but when the pressure comes off I get the pain. If I use lighter weights I find them too easy, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Same thing happens when I do the tricep extentions using the rop on the cable machine, I get a sore pain in my shoulder area when the pressure comes off.

I think my form is right!

Ask a gym instructor to look at your form! You'd be better served heading off to a reputable MSK therapist so physio, physical therapist, Osteopath etc to have it assessed! Most likely a bit of epicondylitis but can't be sure without assessment!

Yeah I will ask someone next time!

I think it's always happened though. I feel like my forearms are very small though. Kinda feels like the bone is under pressure, that's not it though.

This seems like a lot of time for just arms. Is it part of a full body workout or what your routine like?

Anyway as above get someone to take a look. It could just be a bit of an adaptation period.

I have often felt the same sensation when doing Barbell curls but never when doing Dumbbell curls. Do all variations of curls give you this pain? Hammer curls?

I do mostly cardio, I'm trying to lose fat and do some weights.

Mostly, weights machines, shoulder presses, benching, triceps and biceps.

I don't think the frequency has anything to do with it as I think it's always happened.
